Im trying to work out the best way to do it. I know that I can beat either one of you when I concentrate on 1 project, but I dont have a chance in 2 projects against both of you. I dont want to buy any boxes as I have nowwhere to run them. As it is I have an opty165, 2 x64 3200+, dothan 1.4, axp@2100mhz, axp@1733 and a couple of others that are either off all the time or only powered on for a hour or 2 a day.

1 x Gallatin EE
1 x P4 3.0
1 x P4 3.0 (confined to DPAD)
1 x Ahtlon 600 :rolleyes:
1 x P4 1000 Mobile celeron
1 x P2 400 :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
1 x P2 400(mobile) :rolleyes:

They'll be hopefully another 2 x P3's and one P4 3.4 coming on line but thats it for now (read Christmas maybe :hehe:)
Not bad for a fella in DC since March/April 06

Well.. DX 1.6 is in testing. Coming online tonight. And DX2000 is only at 2.55. Must see is there a pin mod also for the non-LV chips. hmmm I thought i saw KB had DX2000 @ 2.75.
They ran at 2.9 all night once... no mods at all... but they won't go near that now.. must have been lucky.

And since I got a bit twitchy after you had a few good days twb, I put on..
-Opty144 @ 2.8

I have backup....just waiting for the opportune moment. I've had to stop DIMES on one of boxen at home 'cos it kept crashing my router (why ~50mb up & down freaked it out I do not know), but I can't afford for any machine to be without work with Team XTT orders in place.

Keep battling riptide & twb I've got one eye on the SOB stats & the other on QMC :fight: And good to see Jose & DAK back at the QMC :)

We need some more members, maybe we should ask for some help from the SOB devotes and promise a load back in return, I know once we are number 1 and have a good lead I will be back into SOB. Maths projects just dont have the polictics its just pure powa !!!
How long till we're No1 in QMC then? (Free-dc stats have been blocked at work so can't check) I'll give a hand out just as soon as I take care of some business in SOB ;) (14 days :rofl:)

I'm putting another box on today hopefully (P4 2.66Ghz), spent this morning swapping fans in Antec PSU's so they don't toast themselves in a few days, so I should be good to go now. :yepp:

I pulled my 144 opty to run d2ol, but I added a x2 4200 @ 2.6. It has already done over 1000 points in just about 12 hours. :D I still have the 146 opty on it. I should be producing 2700-3000 a day now.

Hehe, that's the exact same thing I'm doing -- xfered some power from SoB (after they completed their blocks) to QMC to push twb, but still leave enough SoB to keep gaining on him from that front. :cheer2:

I'm getting concerned as twb & Paladin close in :D I'm hoping the extra boxes I put on the QMC will boost my daily up from ~4.5k & give me a fighting chance to keep my position. Looks like my work machine didn't upload any of its WU's over the weekend too, so that should dump 1k at least today.

First priority at the new place - internet connection! I had a week of downtime while waiting for my line to come alive (moved house about a month ago now) & it was painful; but it did give me a chance to get all my rigs in order. Good luck with the move ;)

I've been feeling like crap for the past few days so haven't really looked at what kind of WU I'm getting for a while. I'll be surprised if the machines can sustain almost 6k a day, but I'm happy I've been eating blueberry & lemon pie this week :D

We're almost within 800k of TA, keep reeling them in guys :toast:

Beyond first priority for me, it's a requirement equal to electricity. Same DSL company serves new location so I don't have to break my contract (and get hit with penalty fees). Different cable company, but I hate all cable companies and try to stick with telco and satellite. I'd get 'naked' DSL if I could since I already use VoIP ($99/yr) as primary.

twb: My pass was only a fleeting moment in the sun til your slow WUs dumped. I have at least six 60-90 hour ones partially completed on the packed rigs. I need more stats update/fixes than that! :p:

Well seeing as I wasnt really getting anywhere on QMC and you were so keen to pass me, I thought that I would have a little reshuffle, should still manage 4k on QMC a day (hopefully) and then have around 50g an update on SOB. This of course goes up in the evening when I power on what I can....which is usually an opty 165@ 2.6 an 3200+ @ 2500 and a 3200+ @ 2000. So that boosts me slighty but unfortunately they arent 24/7 if they were I think that I could of held off you in SOB and Jimwah in QMC. But then if that was the case I would have also powered up a couple of AXPs as well......

I feel a little un-sportsmanlike with this two-pronged attack on James; I'll be honest, I didn't really expect to get the output I have done recently, I think the allendale has made a big difference here.

Looks like a close run thing over on SOB yesterday, when we get this #1 on QMC I'll throw a rig or two at SOB & help you guys out.

Baaah. Its time i dumped a few blocks of the olde P2. Hasn't dumped in a a week or so. Either has the gf's laptop. And another 24hr dump off the usual rigs. I'll put this baby to bed in style. I'm having a very unfortunate run of it with these tests. they're all very high n numbers. And they can affect results by up to 20% downwards. Maybe we're near a prime?? :confused:

Thats is my dads P4 3ghz @ 3.15 ;) You'll notice its about 15-16G an update. Thanks Dad !;) The rest haven't seen the stats yet today. :D I'll be home later tonight. Another 3.5 hours maybe. Not sure if I'll take you... but it'll be damn close!

Well I added an AXP1700+ tonight from my brother, wont be on much but it all helps. Im mostly an AMD guy you see I feel they do just the same/better as a P4 in this project. The opties seem to be better. My DX@2.95 does about 4.2 total with 3 clients, the opty 165@2.6 is doing about 6.2 !!!

Oh yeah going for over a 100g per update.

What k/n pair have you got on the Opty? You know James, AMD's are well proven to do about the same as a P4 at same clock speed. However, its hard to compare, as different k/n tests give very different scores and credits. As I said I've gone through a bad patch, but I can see in my Q that there's a few nice ones coming along. That will bump my scores up by the end of the week.
Oh ya and I'm less than 300G away from you now. You're gonna get T-XXXed sunshine!! :rofl:

The optys are both over 3mil each at the moment, havent really looked any deeper. So was that a one off dump last night or can you sustain that ? The gap would have been larger but the p4 and dx were down from Friday until Sunday afternoon due to the thunderstorms....look you even got me making excuses now....hehe

Going to try and call a couple of reserve machines this week, get my sisters p4 1.6 (if she doesnt stress out too much) and my dads 3200+ laptop.....they wont be 24/7 but it might make the difference.
Ahh. Opti's dual core? Thats makes sense now. That would equate them (In Sob alone) to a single core C2D at 3+Ghz ;)

No James, that is not a one off dump, that is sustained, just that I only dunp when I'm there. I haven't got my GF's laptop to dump yet. She doensn't have BB yet in her new place.. but getting there.

edit: All this borging james.... just remember one thing. DON'T DROP A TEST! If your sis gets pee'd off at you using the laptop after a few days, and you don't transfer that test to another machine to complete it, you'll loose all those points on that test after a month. - and that will qualify you for an 'Insta-XXXbagging'

Well I don't mean to go OT & mention QMC here....:p: ...but, we actually produced less than TA yesterday, and my stats have taken a nosedive, I hoping its a case of the monster WU's but can't check until this evening :mad:

What happened to the DX James? My antec 430 psu feels like it's on the ragged edge running my DX's but it's held up for 4 days, so far so good.

One of my QMC boxes has 2 GIANT wu's. One is 36 hrs and the other 48:)
It was odd to see just two wu's listed in que, as I keep a two day que. I thought something was broke:D

:eek: Sounds a bit nasty, I've got some OS hardening to do soon - I've been putting it off for a while but this reminds me. Might add my spare firewall router behind my adsl router too, might take some tweaking but you can't have too many firewalls :)

See.. in my old place, i used to have all systems run through my main rig, then out to the world. Main rig was kinda like a fortress...
Now I have totally wireless network... but.. all systems point towards the laptop which is attached to the modem. I didn't have any antivirus on the crunchers.... simply because their internet activity is close to nonexistant... and certainly not 24/7.
However, Symantec Corporate Edition V10 is on them now. Thats virus I had was sending (or trying to send) millions of emails all around the place. Packet sniffed the NIC adapters all the time ... so i reviewed the CAP files after I got rid of the viruses... I was like :eek: Holy Schitt.

EDIT: All the emails had subject "Hi" and that was it...

Yeah Vscan 8 corp is good stuff, we use that for customers at work; very few problems in general. I used to install AVG & ZoneAlarm on all my machines, but I noticed BOINC thrashes the ZA (when it talks to localhost I guess :confused:) & I eventually dropped AVG too.

Having a network of bare-naked w2k boxes is a bit of a worry ;) This is why I'm making an IDS win2k box & thinking about throwing another firewall in front of my machines.

Yeah BOINC would run ok, but it just annoyed me having that green bar flashing up & down in the taskbar constantly iirc. The whole network needs downing, dusting out, & standardising here; it's just a case of getting round to it. I'll stick to hardware firewall's but I'm considering putting AV back on, just in case. The packet sniffer I'm setting up is running to some degree, on a box thats trying to run Primegrid, need to play with it some more to get the web interface & rules working 100%; fun & games :D

I just run thru a NAT firewall, minimal open ports. MCafee corp and thats it. I use firefox all the time so no probs with spyware and I onyl download from the Usenet . Cant help but feel most of the software out there is overkill.

Reconnected 2 DX's in a closet (computer room/office is cleaned out for move) so heat is a problem. First DX dumps got me past TWB, other DX dumps (4 70hour WU's) should get my teabag in range of Jimwah.

Unfortunately, I have everything running QMC that can run QMC as it doesnt support an OSX client. That, and my production has been hurt recently by my electrical problems. I'll have to try to bump up my clocks a bit. It wont stop you, but I'll give you a good fight. :)

A month to go with current speed, more if they change the point scheme. I wonder if we can keep the #1. Would be nice to crunch other projects too.

I haven't checked in on the stats for a while, good to see we're still closing in on the #1 spot - I've only got my battered P4 3.0 HT on QMC now :( Gratz also to twb, who's 'bagged me while I was away last week :toast:

Ha! Not quite. I've pretty much stepped up again. However i dunno what he's doing with his new CD2, unless he's retired a XEON. I do know he lost one of the chips running SOB. It seems to push procs a little further than some other apps. Very similar to a Prime test in my opinion.
One theory in my head is that he's building up a dump with it to drop on my head soon.... but... theres a little something heading my way in the post... ;) Is he not doing a little D2OL aswell? Anyways i have a feeling there will be a great battle ahead.

Ya that one chip dieing on me has set me back a bit and I'm still waiting on the RAM for the CD2 system so no dumps from me. D2OL seems to stress the system even more than SOB does. The one system I put D2OL back on was crashing all the time so I put it back on SOB for now and it seems to be fine. I will have to put a different one on D2OL now.
