I don't know if anyone knows this or not. But if you are looking to buy the Hydor L45 pump, this site sells it cheap $59.95.

I think so. It's a very powerful pump. If I remember right it's like 900GPH and 10' of head...amazing pump. More flow than any PC water cooling pump I can think of. And overall more powerful than anything short of some of the really high-end Iwakis. And best of all, it's cheap.

100" is what just over 8 feet, and with those flow rates heat dump must be massive. :slapass:

Hopefully no one will take YOUR advise. The pump is junk and has crap specs. The DDC's or D5's are much better choices and are 12v, more powerful and dump less heat.

how big is this thing? the l30 is pretty big, and this thing has same head as mag2:D
yeah it has way more flow, but that doesnt help much with that low head. And with 50W, the mag2 will probably outperform it!

That's only $15 less than a DDC, which is wayyy better than the pump in the OP. And Zardokk, I think you have a little more reading to do before you can recommend something. For your benefit and others.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey...hey. I read plenty. That's not a bad pump. Sure there are betters, but there's nothing wrong with it.

If it dumps 50w then that right there is something thats wrong with it. :hehe:

Pitch in another 10$ and get a D5 or DDC.

Lets try to engage the higher brain function for the content of our posts next time :p:

Its no worry, we all get it wrong sometimes - but heatdump matters!

The guides are handy tho, maxxx takes alot of time to consider all the angles (although I currently dont agree on his top lineup, as most here are favouring the DDC over 50Z or D5..)

"Filter sponge inside pump-body"

I don't think Maxxx has updated it for several months.

And thats why the forums work, members advising members whats best.

Hopefully Maxxx has some time to redo the pump section, if not I'll offer to do it. Just with Petra's complete testing of the DDC with various heads we can now properly rate them against the competition!

Those pumps are designed for aquariums in a non-closed loop, so the sponge is designed to keep heavy pebbles and stuff out.
