Today I noticed that watercool.de (http://watercool.de/) has released a new DDC top and I thought I might as well spread the news since the DDC's has become kinda popular over here lately.

Maybe the holes in the metall plate remove those nasty vortexes alphacools tank top suffers from? The forum thread (http://www.watercool.de/cms/forum/thread.php?threadid=3260) probably mentions it but I'm not very good at German, and very lazy...

I am still anxious to see the results of Petra's new top.

i browsed the thread quickly (am tired).
One of the people mention that the plate with the holes is to prevent the pump from sucking air and he also says that there are to many holes init.
Further that plate aint metal but plastic.

@ SIG: Yeah, since the head pressure seems to be low the max flow could be very high. With out the tank this top kinda resembles the radiical top.
@ Star: Plastic you say? Well that makes sense, but I don't understand how there could be too many holes in it?

It's a shame that no manufacturer polish the inside of their plexi tops, it would make them look a lot nicer!

What's that thing on the pump just below the top in the pictures? Looks a bit like the hole for the cables but I don't see any cables. Either it's not the cable hole or they mounted the top on an empty pump just to take purdy pictures! :)

If you are talking about the hole between the inlet and outlet I think it is a "LED" mounting hole.

I mean the thing just below the led hole, on the black pump body.

Interesting.... I hope that I don't have to buy one of those too....

As a quick update: I'm almost done testing all the different DDC tops (Stock Delphi, Stock Alphacool, Modded Alphacool, Radiical, etc.) along with the D5 and 50Z. I'll have my prototype back from the machine shop on Monday (but likely won't be able to test it until Tuesday because I didn't remember to order a 1/4" BSPP tap until late last week).

...as a random side note, the data that I've collected might make some Radiical top owners cry...

And to think that I was a nat's ass away from ordering the Radiical top but decided on the AlphaCool. :D

Performance of the Delrin top? I am using one of them but haven't checked temps (literally finished it yesterday).

Would be a shame if it was weak :(

Well thats strange. Does the radical top have some bizarre internal design?

more like some unfinished design...
inside view on radiical turbohead (plexi)

also here we notice that outlet part of said top and impeller height are not going to produce good flow...
http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/2204/outletviewkn5.jpg

as we discussed here:

post count #242
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1687661&postcount=242

we had to modify said radiical turbohead top a little to hopefully lessen some flow impediment...

Hmm... so am I screwed?

of course we won't know this until we see some nice test done and some comparison charts...

which hopefully would contain Petra's version of a DDC top (Petra's Extreme DDC top? hehehe)

Guys I have to say something..the data I got from Radiical on the Turbo Top.... pump head pressure and flow does seem what is reported here

They suggest the pump runs cooler with there top and overall performance was roughly equal to alphacool top(they did admit the alphacool top had bettr head pressure)

I wish they would make some comments in the threads/XS
