Comp help

I just installed a new athlon xp 2500 barton in my comp. I cleared the cmos after I installed it but it's like it doesn't post or something. I can't tell cuz the screen never comes on and it's like it doesn't even acknowledge the keyboard. I know the screen is good, and the keyboard also. What's the deal here?

My comp is configured as follows:
Abit NF-7 Board
CPU is athlon xp 2500 barton core(old one was athlon xp 2400)
Graphics card Geforce 6600 GT
512 mb of pc 2700 DDR Ram

oh man.. can i ever help you with this. first thing is can you do this for me. take out the ram and tell me if you get a bios beep code. you should. if you dont. the bios chip is going to need to be reflashed. other options are hold insert down on the keyboard while booting. also try taking out the bettery and disconnecting the psu from the motherboard and leaving it on clear cmos for a while. some motherboards retain the setting in the nothbridge for a while
