I recently purchased these http://www.frozencpu.com/images/products/main/ex-tub-66.jpgthinking I would mount it in the 3.5 hd bay area so the pumps off the floor of the case... better air flow plus it wont damage anything if I accidently throw the case on its side

Well with the two front ports in the frontal area, I managed to bolt in the 2 rubber screws on the left side of the unit... needless to say the right side would not even accept the screws or even have any threads on the right side as seen in pic 150. I would like to know if any of "you" have this problem.. where you have no threads on the very top screws (spaced apart so you can fit the hd bracket) as seen in pic 148. Btw I bought the top at performance pcs

I leak tested all night and with the pumps inlet not even secure (naughty me) I just seen it in the pictures lol. I havent zipped my wires yet to perfection im only bleeding and leak testing atm. (video card was out all night while I leak tested)

Thanks and I appreciate everyones help

Hi,

I think that you are using the wrong thread holes for the mount. Alphacool top does include the 4x M4 thread holes and those bits from performance-pcs should fit nicely.

Here are the AlphaCool pics:

... and here is the pic from my mount:

As yo may notice, I'm using the bracket for the 5.25" drive bay.

You can see that I have a UFO and use the hard drive mounting plates to hold my DDC-2TPMP. The holes mid-way back from the front of the Plexi block work great mounting the pump. I have NO noise at all from my pump. I also turned the plates so that they are top and bottom, not side to side.

@Direwolf,

Would you please show more pictures of that case. In your PM you said it is a UFO look-a-like but it sure does look like a UFO.

I couldnt find specs of DDC-2TPMP ... Could you post them? thx

The motor runs quit a bit cooler according to casing temps. It is the 18W version by Laing.

on the left go to "DC Pumps" and you will see their various pumps listed with links.

sounds like the top didnt get threaded on that side if its just a smoth drilled hole(maybe the cnc macine broke a tap)
you could rma but for half the cost of shiping you could just buy a tap and thread it youreself.

--UPDATE--

Took it apart and was going to mount it like Sigforever. Use the bottom two holes that are closer together than the top ones that are spread apart.

Sure enough the rubber screws go in the bottom fine, the RIGHT SIDE NO! There are no threads at all on the ENTIRE side!! WTF is this poop! This is just dog poop in a pile!:nono:

Bleedings done and I remounted it the way it is in the pictures. Thanks for all the advice but I just got a lot of dog dookie to wash my hands clean of. I'll buy another top and mount it the way it should when I save up some pennies!

Since it is new I would contact the vendor and request an RMA.
