I salvaged this compressor from a air conditioning unit. I have searched the web but i cant find much info on it, i would mainly like to know how much HP it has got.
http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/121/mitsubishirotarycompressorel2.jpg

The unit also contained these two condensers and some sort of valve:

If anybody can give me some more info on this compressor or the valve, it would be greatly apprieciated.

Its motor has 0,23kW, so it`s 1/3HP from what I see, -10*C@400W, -5*C@502W

nice - you're lucky to have gotten a TXV in your ac unit, most have only captube :)

Thanks luke, that is what io wanted to know!

Mario: could it be used on a phase-change for my cpu?

Maybe it`s not question to me, but I will answer.

Yes, you can use it without any problems :)

That is great news Luke, Thanks for the info. But it also raises a few new questions. Where do i place the "sensor" to measure the superheat temp. and i know it is actually made for 134a but would it be possible to use it with r507a? Becasue thats what i was planning on using.

No problem with using R507, it use that same oil as R134A (POE).

No problem with using R507, it use that same oil as R134A (POE).

I know the gasses are interchangable because they use the same oil but i was thinking maybe R507a isnt usable with the TXV because of the diffrence in pressure.

I read the sensor for the TXV should be placed about 2 inches from the evap. The TXV itself should be placed as close to the evap as possible, however in our case this poses a problem because we would have to run 2 flexlines (suction and pressure). Maybe putting a small piace of cap tube (about the length of the flex line) inbetween the evap and the TXV will solve this problem?

Umm, you may have difficulty using that TXV (I think luke thought you were talking about using the compressor, which obviously you can use) if you're going to use R507. I don't know a great deal about TXV's, maybe someone else could help shed some light.

Oh...yes, you`re right, I thinked about compresor oil --> gas.

About that TXV, I don`t think so that it will work good with R507, I think captube will be better and easier way to go in first phase

Ah, that is what i thought, i'll save the TXV for another project then. Captube it is :) Thanks for the help Luke and Aussie :) Any thoughts on wich condensor is best to use? I have space for both, the big one is 210x250mm and 60mm thick. The small one is 125x200mm and 50mm thick. I was thinking the big one would wordk best, but i am no expert on the subject :)

Hey guys, does anybody know how strong are those rotary compressors (BTU or HP)?

I'd use the biggest condenser with the rotary. Both would probably work good.

The TXV is perfect for a waterchiller.

@LittleDevil: Sanyo C-RV227H01AA is a 12000Btu/h ;) Don't find anything else about the 2 others.

Pansuu:
It's a 785W Tecumseh, that's about 1HP. You can use any single-stage gas you want if you use the proper oil.

Wow 1HP, that was good finding :D

Is this a little too powerfull for waterchiller?

Thanks

That is end of B4, mine is B6, same datas i ques. 3/4hp etc.

Oil is SYNTHETIC, what gasses that mean? Can i use r134a?
