So i want to make a cheap build, so that i can keep everything else, but upgrade the processor when they go down in price, what do you think,

i will be transferring all the other bits from my AMD rig

£128.06Get E6400. To OC 6300 to at least 3.2-3.4GHz FSB and Mem clock have to be ~470MHz ... not many mobos & mem can do that ;)

You might want to consider PC2-6400 or faster RAM, although Conroe in general isn't terribly bandwidth dependent. In the US, Newegg and ZipZoomFly both have 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix 4-4-4-12 for about $200 after rebate, dunno if there are similar deals where you are.

Depending on how far ahead you're planning, some later quad-core CPU's are anticipated to use 4x333MHz FSB. Not sure how that might affect your choice of motherboard.

And whether or not you plan to overclock, the E6400 at an additional $45 is also a good deal.
