Hello. I built a computer and it won't post. When i start the PSU the fans start running but the green LED on my P5B won't shine. Is the mobo broken. Reset CMOS don't work.

MOBO: P5B
CPU: E6400 with a ninja
RAM: X2TWIN DDR2-800
GPU: 7900GS

Have a spare set of ram or perhaps a spare ddr2 system where you could test out your cpu as well ?

It isn't your vid card, if your ram and cpu work fine in another computer...then its 100% your motherboard...make sure the 24-pin connector is pushed inside well...

I have a similar issue. Power up my new build P5B Delux and the blue LED turned on. When I jumpered the power pins the LED turned red, the CPU cooler fan turned and the video card fan rev up. When I hook a case fan up then it will spin up fine, too. But that is where it stops. No video signal, no POST, not even a beep.
I sent the first board back and now have the same issue with the second board. Any clues as to what is going on?

BIOS 0507
CPU Intel D940
RAM 2x GSkill 1 Gb 6400 1.9-2.0 Volt
GPU ATI X1800 AIW
PSU Antec SP-500 (500 Watt)

I have tried to get it to POST with a PCI video card in two of the PCI slots (and no PCI-E card installed) and still no video.

Any hint is greatly appreciated.

Actually my fans start spinning when i push the I/O button my PSU. Shouldn't they start when i push the power button in front? The Power Button infront doesn't effect the system at all when plugged in.

Okey my problem was that i thightend the motherboard screws to much so that the back of the motherboard short-circuted against the chassi-plate. However my system posts now. Let's see how much damage occured.

 I found my problem as well. I had the BIOS version 0509. G.Skill tech support had the answer. They told me that version 0609 or later addressed the 800 MHz RAM issue that board has.
So, I got a stick of 533 MHz RAM and flashed the BIOS to the current 0614 version, powered down and replaced that 533 MHZ RAM with my 800 MHZ RAM from G.Skill.
