The upcoming Metropolis-series laptop will feature overclocked Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor functioning at 3.37GHz, will be based on Intel P965-series chipset, will be equipped with up to 4GB of PC2-6400 (DDR2 800MHz) memory, two Serial ATA hard disk drives, optional PuRAM solid state system drive, HD DVD drive and other powerful hardware. The most noticeable advantage of L International Computers’ Metropolis will be four GeForce Go 7900 graphics chips in quad SLI mode accompanied by 19” monitor with 1920x1200 native resolution.

Pretty much useless considering power consumption of that beast. But it also surprises with today level of miniaturization and thermal dissipation of components which actually allow these things in "small" laptop.

L-computers are basically mythical vaporware, the throw a lot of self-created buzzwords around to try to confuse you.

Finally I can take my laptop to Starbucks and play F.E.A.R. at decent resolutions!

That's stupid, it's probably of more use weightlifting it than gaming with it, which is meant to be done on PCs.

Funny thing that that's becoming the last thing they care about, while actually a laptop is meant to be portable. This thing, if it exists anyways, needs a powercable. It's like the same thing that has happened to mobile phones, next thing you know they forget to add the functionality to call with it.

I call :bs:

2 is hard enough, but 4, thats gonna be near impossible.
They claim to have the x6800, which isnt cool and they say its pre oc'ed as well?
Does it have built in phase change as well? :stick:
They wont be able to fit any of that in there unless its 7 inches thick.
Not to mention a 19" screen with that res is a bit out of the ordinary.

And as previously said, the battery life is going to be about half an hour, if that.

My xps, i think is the balence between power and mobility, where as that thing is a 'slightly more mobile desktop', this is actually usable away for long periods.
Dont even let me continue.

thunderstruck!

I was thinking the same thing about mobiles. I just want a slim phone that gets a clear signal. I don't want a crappy camera, video, or email which adds $200 to the price of the phone. If I wanted to take pictures, that what I have a digital camera for. And camera phones are so so crappy it's not even worth taking a picture without making your eyes bleed.:nono:

Thats what it looks like to me. A company that went down in 04 is all of a sudden back and publicly traded and talking about throwing quad sli in a laptop. Sounds like a load of bs so they can get some interest in their penny stock.

Try nokia N93 and you will be surprised ;)
About the others I agree with you :p:

on the topic. Of course it seems stupid idea. The thing is if that notebook somehow becomes reality it will definately be a hot product between fat kids with wealthy parents only, cause it would probably cost one month salary of half chinese nation.. That would be a machine for the lanparties. Nobody would buy this pc for carrying around for sure.

And the last time I checked, SLI isn't open on Intel platform, that would mean they wouldn't have any tech help from Nvidia or Intel on this one. And if they did make Quad on mobile, Nvidia would of been all over this news story and made a huge PR deal out of it.

Sounds like complete BS to me.

Only on intel's mobile chipsets, it's still blocked on the 975 and 965's.
