Looks like Xtreme has created a new forum with DDTUNG's name written all over it ;)

I hope I can get some help from bmg and others to develop Vmods for as many motherboards and vga cards as possible.

Volunteers are also needed to help build a database of known Vmods, as well as help search for data sheets and other technical information.

If you want to volunteer your hardware for development, post me a message. After successful modding, it can be returned directly to you, or sent first to one of our ocing gurus for testing and review and then back to you.

DDTUNG,
I may have a Abit 4200 that you could experiment with ;)
That is, if you care to :)

We are already working on the Vmods for the Ti4200 in another thread. All I need from the people there are a few resistance and voltage measurements and we'll be in business.:)

Thanks for your offer anyway.:)

DD :)

Any chance of looking into the Gainward Ti4600 vmod?
Its supposed to be standard but... you know

JC,

Can you measure the resistance between pin 11 and ground on the SC1102 chip, and between pin 18 and ground on the SC1175 chip, with the card pulled from the mobo. Then can you measure the stock Vgpu and Vmem at the measuring points posted by Macci?

DD,

I forgot most things I had to measure (lol) but I can tell you that the GPU voltage is exactly 1.66V , resistance between pin 11 and ground on SC1102 is... I dont know lol. I suck at reading a multimeter... the voltage was easy cos I could test it on the PSU first. At "200" setting it measured 98. At 2K setting it measured 0.098. I thought that would make it 98 ohms, but that sounds pretty low... I am sure of the reading though, i repeated it several times. Forgot to measure Vmem and pin 18 on the other one... but I wasnt planning on a vmem mod anyway. Although i'll measure it next time I pull out the card

cheers

edit : just measured Vmem = 2.83

JC, yeah its around 100ohms just solder a 5k VR there and start turning :D

btw, anyone got any idea about the proper Vmem mod on GF4 Ti4600?
By a proper mod I mean a mod that wont make the card artifacting if at over 3V Vmem (according to xbitlabs this is because the input/output Buffer voltage (which goes up as you up the internal Vmem voltage) gets too high).

Take a look at there Ti4400 Vmods:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/video/visiontek-gf4ti4400/

There they set the Internal memchip voltage to 3.5V and used a diode to lower the I/O buffer voltage to near stock level (~2.7V).

THe Ti4400 Vmod is rather simple but too bad the Ti4600 ref. design is different from ti4400 :/

Mac,

did you ever get round to vmodding your friends gainward ? If so, did it work? :D

AAnd it works :)

Used 1kohm VR cos that was the only one I could find rite now.
1kohm between pin11 and GND:
1.65V => 1.81V

1kOhm VR and ~400ohm fixed resistor might be a good idea cos it will limit the max GPU voltage to around 2V max and 1.75V min.

Ran couple Drago hi tests without problems. It used to lock up at anything higher than 328MHz and now it did 340MHz (locked up at 344 though). This is w/ stock GPU cooler so it does get a bit hot :)
