House is all CAT6 wired on Netgear gigabit switches BUT 10/100 router. My understanding is that Verizon brings in a wireless DLink router when they install but I do like my old Netgear RT 314..

I have it on my area, too bad that i have no time to kill my roadrunner cable and switch to verizon fios. If I have the time for the installation, I would switch isp. Maybe in 3 months im going to get that 30mbit line.. its gonna do wonders for my home server. price aint that bad either.

As far as i know running virtual machines is really helpfull for MJ-12. Get nnsteps XSOS and vmware server, then run it 20x - should be enough ;)

edit: Just continued running maj12 - the router isnt really usefull@wcg, 1 wu would need more than 20 H.

also, on the archiving note, the builtin archiving is most probably better than running winRAR anyways, as LZMA is a superior algorithm in both speed and compression.

I WILL be bugging you for advice on using this to the max. At the moment just 2 machines running as the old DX700 is retired and the P4GD1 is sold and haven't gotten that dual socket opty up yet but thats my next priority.

Won't guarantee 100% every day but I'll do as much as I can with it.I do run a server so that will take some BW.
Talked with the guy doing the drop today. He tells me that people are seeing the full 15mbit down and between 1.7-2.0 mbit up.

Expensive to run for just that..a dual 350 watt PSU..That's why I pulled it from crunching. Was doing 450 a day in Rosy at the time..My elec this summer almost killed me..Wheb it gets to buying food or running a machine, the machine loses..Kept the 2 best ones running, sold the P4GD1 and retired the DX700..I still am looking for another Opty 266 for that dual socket Opty board..

No video yet. The towns here think they can "hold up" Verizon like they did the cable companies, so Verizon went to the statehouse and made them an offer they couldn't refuse.
Let Verizon compete or the next time the tel lines would be updated would be in the next millenium..:D
I lucked out because my tel exchange is the same as Nashua( large city)
Where I live they roll up the streets at 9pm..I think there are 4 cops in the whole town and one arrest last year total.

Go to tools/options/connection and turn down the speed..

It would be hella nice :nuts: He also offered 25/15 which is a tad bit better over my current 20/5 but I'm looking at the returns I'll get price-wise from the 50/30 versus the 25/15 :D

ive been passing helheim in Dimes, with about half of the pharm running... do yall think i can max that line out :) i think i have a total of 18 rigs i could hook up :shocked:

now i want to keep my Dimes running as well will i beable to do MJ12 as well on the same rigs?

18 rigs will most likely max it out....there are some MJ12 users who have access to 100mbit lines and they come close to maxing out a 100mb line on 8-15 rigs. The faster your connection, the more URLS("points") you will crawl. If you have 10 rigs on a 20mb line and 10 rigs on a 50mb line, the 50mb line will always outdo the 20mb line because of sheer bandwidth. About BOINC and MJ12, I would ask Dave because he has more experience with running crunching apps alongside MJ12 :up:

If you get a 50/30 line and stick 5 rigs on it you'll pretty much max the line or do 4 and leave 10mbit to dimes on a separate machine.
Boinc and MJ12 work fine together.

Fios just came for me in flushing ny finally, got 35/20 plan, they come monday and im free from this crappy dsl ^_^

my 128 kbit line (unmetered was like heaven) ..my 1mbit upgrade was like: oh :banana::banana::banana::banana: I can't believe it.. now I will be stuck for some years with it ( but thank god someone created friends and VPS)
