Its one of the best!
The AGOIA or AROIA are very good, and hit easy 2Ghz w watercooling!

I'm sure you know this, but MAKE SURE the one you get is a "Y"!

I got the info from a reliable source!

My Agoia Y XP 2000+ does 1870Ghz aircooled with 2.05-2.1 volts pumped down its neck....

A "Y" stepping in an XP CPU does not always equate to a great overclocker as it did with the T-birds. But don't get me wrong either...you won't know until you start pushing that puppy.

OPP had great success with his AGOIA"K" 2100+...and there is much great to say of steppings beginning with "41F"....JC has posted about these cpu's...and I currently am running a retail XP1700+ AGOIA "41F" that has run as high, successfully, at 2064Mhz with phase change cooling. The highest 3DMark benches I've run are at 2034Mhz...thats not too shabby for a 1466Mhz cpu. I had the chance at the time of purchase to get an XP2000+ AGOIA"Y"....but the price point difference made the 3 year warranty a bit more attractive for me...and JC's and others successful high O/C's was the other factor.

Good luck with your purchase..can't wait to see some O/C goodness there:)

Randi :D

I would be okay with a "K" or a "Y", but I would be disappointed if I received a "4" or "9". Letters (in most all cases) overclock much better than numbers.

Where can i go and get info on stepping code so i know what you guys are talking about.

why would you be unhappy about getting a 9?
some of the 9 cpu's are the best and overclock alot further then a y or k cpu...
over at http://forums.overclockers.com.au for current leading cpu is a AGOIA '9' 02 week 16

Cool! As weird as it may seem, AGOIA or AROIA are the kings of overclocking. (when it comes to default and undervolting voltages) I had a 1700 AGOGA Y that never came close to 2000 MHz. Maybe because of my 266A chipset!

I had an AGOGA that did 1.9, but not much more. I just picked up a AGOIA Y yesterday and had time to unlock it, but nothing else. I'll play with it tonight and get back to you all.

Sweet! Did you buy it local or online? If online, where?

The AGOIA's a really great OCers, from what I've saw was a 2000+ agoia hitting almost 2Ghz and I think it was on air!
IMHO if u 100% sure this is the stepping u'll get if u order and u don't want/can't wait for the better steppings of tbreds/bartons then go for it!

Well, I wrote a few online vendors to see what steppings they have, but none responded - so, I hit the very expensive local stores. Paid more than I wanted to, but I should have a good chance at getting a good OC.

To be honest with you, I hear Newegg has some AGOIA 1600's, you might want to ask around.

I've got an XP1600 AGOIA 9 that I've had over 1800mhz on air........ I'm not complaining! And I bought it pre-unlocked for $90 to boot!

Hard ass I just noticed that you are talking about the exact cpu I have. I got mine to 1.92ghz at 1.95V on the epox 8k3a+. My cpu temps is 45 at full load. Also I can boot into windows at 1974mhz but not stable at all.

I'm running at 1.95ghz at 1.95v right now. I just ordered a stick of Mushkin3000, so I should be able to do some heavier FSB overclocking next Wed and Thursday.

neptune what are the temps? How are you cooling it?

Neptune5k

Temps (according to the in-socket therm) is 33-34C, ambient 33C. I'm using mediocre Phase-Change Cooling.

oh ok, I was just wondering cause I'm stuck at 1.92 ghz on air. I can boot into windows at 1.97ghz but I can't get it stable anywhere in between at any voltage.

I have been told that a 10C drop in operating temperature equates to a 2-5% improvement in operating frequency in the IC industry.

Well, I've pretty much reached my cooling's limititations. 1.95-ish is all she'll take.
