Swiftech!:)

Just got my swiftech setup up and running. So far works great. Helped me increase my max overclock over 120ish mhz so far after running a fairly strong aircooling setup.

the best tec-wb is coming

http://www.pctuner.net/asp/Articoli/Articolo.asp?ID=213

probably it can do aprox 8-10°C less than a swiftech (calculated, probably better) ;)

Not that i can read any of it, it doesnt look like any improvement over a maze 2-1 style block although a novel hold down technique.

The reality of tec cooling is we put out too much heat to effectively cope with one tec since to get the cooling capacity you enter a place where the tec isnt working as effectively as it could. Dual 172's @ 18v is significantly better than a single 220 @ 15.8v.

Ideally you want a dual 220watt tec block, with direct hotside cooling with 10-11v operating, but the problem is space.

yes, but this wb have a much better c/w of any swiftech wb, this is the difference ;)
with great wattage a minimal difference in c/w became a great difference in cpu temp, so this tec system can beat swiftech by a lot of °C

i know that a double tec can do better, but as you say space is a great problem

the site in the link have built a 3*226w tec cpu cooling system (not for sale) :D

Compared to a swiftech yeah, but its a couple of yrs old now, as is a maze in reality, and it wont outperform a maze 2-1, just be very similar.

What I would like to see from a manafacturer is a maze design, like that one, but with the channels go all the way thru the base and then water in channels direct hotside stlye.

You cant get much better cooling on the hotside than water touching it :)

I use an MCW462-UHT. Seems to work rather well ;).

Anyone think the new MCW5000-PT will be made available for AMD? Call it MCW5000-AT??????

Seems doubtful, since Swiftech doesn't seem to want to make the block use the mounting holes, and there is no way that a Socket 462 can support the weight of that waterblock + the weight of a TEC and cold-plate. Too much torque on the socket.

The block is nice and shiny, but I don't think you are going to see a big loss in temperatures. I like the idea that swiftech has been using by cooling the hot side of the pelt directly. But with all the money you could spend by buying a power supply, water-blocks, pelts, insulation junk, etc., you could just buy some new hardware or pick up a vapo-cooler.

the guy that did that block did a beautiful job.
that thing looks great.
too bad the OC results suck, but the guy needs a better CPU.

wow, I'd love to see what he can do with the northbridge and videocard.

soon they'll do a T-Rex version for GPU/NB.. wait & see ;)

howether for T-Rex result with serious o/c there are 3 people testing it for now, and soon 5 or 6... this before its commercialization, so, like for T-Rex GPU, wait & see ;) :p

for maze 2-1, you need a good psu to manage 2*172w tec 24v, and it costs a lot, so with the money for a maze 2-1, a good ali and a waterchiller you can buy a prometeia :( and prometeia is more reliable and have better performance

Go for ~10 gbp, powers dual 172's or dual 220's easily if you know what your doing :)

I saw these really interesting looking waterblocks the other day some website and now can't remember where I found them!
They're really slick looking red anodized aluminum made in AUS.
Anyone know what they are? And any good?

Hi JR, nice to see you back in the UK.

Do you still have that 220watt TEC for sale ?
As im thinking about having a mess about with TEC some time, I have all the other kit now I just need a TEC and some time to play.
