I just purchased a ASUS P5WDH Pro and a C2D 6700. I don't have the first clue as to how I go about OCing my new box. I want to learn. Where do I start?
I know that is a lot to ask and there are 1000 differnet directions to go. I gotta start somewhere... where is somewhere?

The easiest way to overclock is to drop the memory speed back another divider, and start upping the FSB in 5-10MHz incriments, depending on how patient you are. Keep doing so until your computer becomes unstable. Then try bumping up the vCore a knotch or two, and see if it's stable again. If so, repeat last two steps until you find max stable speed. If you encounter instabilities, try playing with ram speed or timings, voltage, etc.
