Yup, im with Larry on this one. Theres no way to obtain an average because youre at the mercy of other users returning the same results.

After a week or so it kinda evens out - as one joins the queue another drops off.

I guess one could think that we are just working too fast for the system to validate our work.. :D
We are just too good for them to just accept our work at face value :p:

It would seem that eventually the fast comps would out-race the slow ones, if only a little. Meaning that since the slow ones take longer to request new wu's and the fast ones are getting them more frequently, we would seem to have to get paired up with other fast ones more often...or maybe just wishful thinking.

600 mhz, running on XP with MJ-12 on high priority and numerous background tasks, it takes 5 minutes for task manager to pop up so I can make it somewhat useable :p:, C2D is looking ever sweeter

Hey, every flop counts; I don't begrudge the slow ones. It gives those old warhorses something useful to do. May resurrect a few dust collectors myself.

Grid republic (boinc clients?) claims to be generating 1.3 TFlops a day, 10 times the worlds fastest supercomputer.

that would be 1.3 PFlops, which is pretty much on par with the new world's fastest supercomputer, which is over 1 PFlop... :)

that site simply lacks it. the Japanese run it IIRC

Yes, thank you; I must mind p's and t's.

Their numbers are a year old as Ibm got the second half of Blue Gene going and is now over 280 TFlops.

Thanks for the heads up on the Japanese computer. The TOP500 list still doesn't include MDGRAPE-3, the fastest at 1PFlop, since it's not a general purpose computer, but dedicated to molecular dynamics simulation.

Seems a little high inconclusive/invalid. Out of 18 pages, I've got none of either, but there were a couple inconclusive that have since resolved.

I agree, inconclusives may not be you it could be because of another result in the quorum, but you should only ever get the odd invalid/error.
