i was wondering if the ecs c-19 sli (1.0a) would support ddr2 800 ram, im leaning towards am2, slowly, so im upgradin the nessisary components i want for am2, then making the big move
kinda thinking about some corsair xms2 or ocz ram...

Personally, i'd stay away from ECS motherboards .. but if the specs say it will support DDR800 it should do fine. AMD systems do better with faster ram (timings) so i would try for some Cas4 ram, but i think an ECS mobo hold you back a bit .. maybe consider a lower end 570SLI asus board or maybe DFI. I guess it depends what you're after.

Another thing, since you got a C2D avatar .. maybe you should be leaning towards getting a intel system :) .. just a thought.

lol
i like c2d, but i cant lean toward intel for fear that i will fall off LOL
but really, i cant afford that stuff
the board says ddr666... but im wondering if it is able to stretch to ddr800 if i clocked the fsb to 1066mhz... i heard that ddr2 800=fsb 1066 so i think thats how high it needs to be

AMD systems do not use an FSB bus.
and for the ram the divider determines the ram speed.

on the intel side, if the bus is 800 and the ram is 1:1 it wil be 400. if the ram is 2:1 it will be 800. if it is 4:3 it will be 533 and 5:3 is 666.

should be pretty dang similar on AMD though I beleive AMD bases it off of a 666mhz ram speed so 1;1 is running the ram at 666 and 6:5 is 800

for the record c2d is truely the superior chip. i don't trust the motherboards for it as of yet(RD600 should fix that) but the chip itself is phenominal. at 2.13GHz stock my e6400 felt much like my old opteron at 2.6GHz

i no, but when i get am2, or conroe, because u all are making me jelous it will support dr2 800 anyways, what im asking is that if my mobo right now will support it
if u have ddr 666, i heard the fsb should be 800 to use 1:1
and if u have ddr800, u need a 1066fsb to work 1:1
that should clear it up
though my mobo doesnt say it supports ddr800, is there a chance that clocking my fsb to 1066 will make it work?
