Gigabyte's DS3 with Conroe E6700
plus
F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ

Would like to run everything stock, except the ram
Systems locks at bios memory test[if i'm not mistaken] when i try to configurate it to run at 1066 Timing: 4-4-4-5 and 2.2v, tried 2.4v as well...
But to be honest this my first highend system, so i may not be doing it correctly
Would really appriate some help, i know about CTRL+F1 and hidden memory settings, but i'm still confused  how to properly configurate them for my ram...

P.S.: Other question is why would CPU-z reconize the ram as PC8000 instead of PC8500 :(

Thank you in advance!!

Which mobo is the way to go then?! i'll sell this setup with out the ram/HDs and build another one - that will eat some of the time again, but defenatly increase my building skill...

P.S.: Giga's DS3 Memory Support List Has Corsair CM2X1024-8500C5 which is 8500 ram :(

the gigabyte chipset has been programmed in a bad way that it hates certain Micron D9 modules.

i too am plagued with this issue.

we are pretty much stopped at around 950mhz dram. any higher is just not stable.

which i believe could be bypassed with a single or two dram settings in the bios biut for the love of god i have no idea which setting to change and what to change it too.

i have no idea why the chipset would cause the ram to do this when other D9 modules work just fine.. totally whacky.

but the HZ is a proven winner.. so its not the ram's fault.

but the HZ is a proven winner.. so its not the ram's fault. i don't mind buying another mobo - i spend money on HZ, because i wanted to run 1066fsb with 1066ram... but i didnt want dual pci-e, so i went with DS3-its great mobo/stable at stock. But not what i wanted...

So before i buy another mobo-i gotta to find someone with F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ running it at 1066 4-4-4-5 coupled with conroe

Looking forward for more replies-thank you everyone!!

UPDATE:
Almost gave up and thought of buying new mobo or living with DS3 for a while till DX10, but had time this weekend and gave it another go.
I was able to hit 1066 easy, with settings all on AUTO, except the voltage was bumped to 2.4 and memory multiplier 4.0+
By just doing one 1GB stick instead of pair of 1GB sticks. :brick: why didnt i think of that earlier :brick:
Two 1GB sticks in Dual Channel with 1066 freezes the bios during memory test - F4, F6[didn't play with memory settings when F5 was out.] Won't even let you inside bios.:bsod:
Two sticks in Signal Channel mode with 1066 above settings-system boots, but Windows is unstable, freezes or reboots. :bsod:

After that to be honest Now i really don't like comment

very hard to reach 1066 at DS3
mobo's problem
Because i feel if a n00b like me can get it to 1066 with out even playing with SPD/Timings settings Yet, by just switching voltage and memory multiplier.
Feels like you haven't played with DS3 and F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ or F1-8500PHU2-1GBHZ sticks enough.
and looks like DS3 needs to improve their Dual Channel handling and it may resolve a couple memory problems... Hopefully this will help to move people either around in Gigabyte or G.Skill or other Memory Brands or at least show DS3 users that mobo doesn't suck-just need improvements and communication between developers that willing to test and resolve memory problems while having the better knowledge (of their own product) than an average user like me...

Thanks in Advance
and P.S.: Not trying to attack anyone, i would just like to products to work together at max settings with out overclocking much, keep everything at stock speeds that they were sold at... IMHO Overclock is good when system is an year old-that's when its time to overclock and squeeze out of system to still keep up with more recent products.

thx for you info

i really don't have time to play a mobo for too long
basicly i did try this mobo dual channel about a day then i gave up.
1000 i have no problem but just not over 102x

change timing is no helping to run 1066 i am serious. i did try all kind of timing be no help...... but i didn't try single channel tho...
