today was a big update. our first real team update since a large group of members has joined. we moved up 171 spots today. i thought most of you guys were gonna have a tough time catching up to me and the guys above me, but now i think i'll have trouble keeping up

we were 5th in the daily points generated, and i don't think we'll have any trouble hitting the #2 spot on the daily. so its only a matter of time before we hit the #2 spot overall.

easynews is going to be some good competition though.... 2,571,476 points ahead of us today....

I, by no means, underestimate us. But I got to tell you, 2nd may have to be like 1st for us. Easynews is just to humongous. When I was back in FaD with XPC, we climbed all the way to 1st. And held it for a while. In the stats we could see a team growing and getting stronger by the day. It was TSC Russia. Eventually they became this huge monlith with thousands of members. Inevitably they bumped us to second, where we stayed til the end of the project. Some things are like that. Just inevitable. Some things ya just find yourself powerless over. EasyNews just maybe one of those things. I'm all for climbing Mt. Everest, etc. Doing the improbable and seemingly impossible.
I think everyone else is reachable. But EasyNews may be like climbing to the moon...

well, we're going to take a run at it anyway i'm sure... and if we can't reach easynews on our own... maybe we do a little joint venture with the OC community just to get ahead of them :)

would definatly be a fun project if we grouped some of the best OC teams together

i've been looking at the daily, and total stats, and i think we'll be able to get up to 1million points a day without too much difficulty if we get 1 or 2 big crunchers on board. and it would take 6 months or less to get to the #2 spot i think. of course i'm just guestimating. but this is going to be a fun project i think.

Yeah, but look how much work you get done with your 4 clients. If my 60 produced that well, we'd probably have a cure to something by now...:D

I have 30 clients running at the present but at the end of the year, i"ll bring at least 12 more AND some DC upgrades. I have about 100Ghz right now, with about 70Ghz at WCG.

75-80k a day, I hope:)

Give it time, DDt just might get the itch if we show it is a doable thing.
@ itznfb why 2 WCG's in your sig? the Boinc and the reg? Why not one or the other?

itznfb
08-30-2006, 06:26 PM

i have people in my company believing this is a forum about network administration. so when they come up behind me and i'm reading the forum they think i'm researching issues with the network or something. so anything i centralize to this location makes my life easier.

It was probably your fault then....

after a few days at 5th, we took 4th in the dailies today.

I'm hoping to add some power early next week. I have 2 GB of Patriot PC 5300LLK coming, as well as an Asus P5B Deluxe. The chip Hassan sold me is lonely, sitting there all by itself. Muhaahahaha!
