Well I have all the supplies to pelt my NB, but I was thinking to myself would it be worth it. I was wondering what you guys have found out by doing so.
the cpu is vapo'd, and the 9700 is wc'd and pelted also.
O BTW it will be going on a new epox with the crush 18d chipset, so it does around 225 fsb out of the box.
so what do you think?

I think at the very least it would be real "cool" ! hehe

With the new chipset I'm not sure how much you would gain, but its sure wouldn't hurt. I've heard they run cooler.

I know Opp had his A2 stepping cooled with a peltier, he was able to hit 250mhz fsb. I would love to hear the results with yours !

Look out for that kink in the tube, you should take care of it, so it won't reduce the flow

yes, im curious to see what the NB temp is now with the pelt.;)

yea That kink is from moving all the stuff out of the way to get a pic. good eyes though.I am still working all the bubbles out, but I turned it on to make sure of the contact and what not, I tounched the back of the board and it was freezing cold, colder than the back of my 9700 with the mcw50-t gets. I am getting anxious now.

Bryan It's normal, the nb doesn't produced as much heat as the gpu so the tec is cooler, make sure you've isolated everything well. You should try to run the pelt without turning the main power on to check if condensation appears it's better than having a bad surprise

Ok guys, looks like this is just a conversation now, so I'm moving it to it's proper place in pelts.

No i mean as it should be placed on the mobo, to check that the neoprene is doing its job

I have a 120w pelt on my 8rda+ with the same DD z-block. Make sure you use some dielectric grease on the back of the mobo where the northbridge is.
The back will condensate and slowly start to fuse/short the pins together. Best thing to do is apply some grease, then lay a thin piece of neoprene over it. Also on the topside around the northbridge itself put some grease around the chip where it mates to the actual mobo PCB.
I have toasted a few boards when not using this technique.

The grease give you piece of mind it wqill repel the condensation if you do happen to get some and trust me you will unless you live in the desert.

good luck!

Instead of smearing di-grease all over your board, I found this cool stuff called liquid tape. You can paint it on and then it solidifies and insulates. I would put that on the back of anything you are pelting because it will just peels off if you want to remove it while the di-grease will act like any other grease and just keep smearing unless you use soap and water.

Acetone removes the grease in 2 seconds.

How long have you used the liquid tape with a pelt in 24/7 use? have you had any condensation issue?
Did you also use neoprene?
Please let us know I am always looking for a better way.

I haven't used it for 24/7, but i haven't run into any problems nor have the people I have known to use it. You will still need to use the neoprene to be safe though.
