NF7-S 1.2 pencil vdd mod

i've just got this mobo....and i want the max fsb!

i measured the resistance on that one resistor and it decreased from 570 to 504 after doing the pencil trick...

give it a go!

i already did it on rev. 1.2 which could barely do 210fsb and now doing 227fsb @ 2.05 VDD. i was getting 1.89v max at first but then re-did it and now hittin 2.05v. btw, if you do that while your pc is on, you gotta reboot it in order to get the mod working:)

I did the pensil mod but found it rather bad.
The pensilmarks wear off pretty fast and it is pretty hard to set a accurate vdd voltage.

I found it much more handy to just wire a 5k Ohm pot between pin 6 and the ground.

well you be the judge of that stevehat1
think about the pro's and con's of that mod.

*you'll have to solder anyway to read the vdd voltage. so not having to solder to the chip is a lame excuse for the pensil mod.
*you can't easy go down and up on your voltages if you pensil it, so basically it is a guessing game. the thicker the pensilmark, the higher the voltage.
*it is not as easily removed as the wires you solder onto the chip. You'll have to clean it to undo it.
