I would appreciate any help on this issue I am having.

Just received my stuff from coolmods.com to do the vdd mod.

Before all I could get was 190fsb. I put in the vantec iceberg and nb fan onto the sb. Then did the mod, pin 11 that is, using their kit. They say its set to 1.9v which should be fine. Booted up and tried 200fsb, bang fine everything still ran fine, could never boot before at that voltage.

Basically the mod works and even 208fsb is fine, didnt try higher.

One thing that is plaguing me is even at 190fsb with same volts on the cpu and ram, same everything, the pc doesnt boot sometimes, or if i get to windows and restart for some reason, it may not restart properly, it hangs before the bios screen. This is still at only 190fsb or higher.

I am new to modding so should I reduce the volts going to the sb via the variable resistor, or is this just the bad thing about the pin 11 mod.

If I remove the kit and use the same 190fsb as usual this problem goes away totally.

Any inputs would be great.

I know on my Asus I started having the bios lockup @ 1.95v+
if the mod is using micrograbbers on the IC you always got the
possibility that you are shorting against one of the ajacent pins.

1.9v is way to high just to get 200-208 default is 1.6v and
you should not have an issue at 1.75 hitting 200+

Thanks guys,

Yeah I have no multimeter so I reduced it by about 5 turns (22 turn v resistor).

It stopped the system refusing to boot after restarting the pc.

Great!!

Now I am trying for higher FSB. Ram is at 2.8v. Its XMS 3200C2 in dual mode. Tried 215 * 11.5 at 6-3-3-2, nah 3dmark2001 crashed on the first test. Tried 214, it got further but not a whole test. Tried 213 then and completed a whole test. Then I got 3dmark2001 to loop 10 times on each test. As usual it goes all the way to the frickin matrix test on high detail and crashes. Is that test super hard on memory or something.

Anyways it seems that this board decides not to boot sometimes. Even at real stable settings it will say bios boot block or sometimes just wont boot.

Feck!!

Anyone know what I should be able to get out of this ram at 2.8v, and what timings.

Cheers!!
