View Full Version : Ever heard of this, RAM posting at wrong Frequency

HI there,

Just setting up my new Core 2 Duo system and have the G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ PC6400 (DDR2-800)

The issue is that when the PC post, it is only coming up as PC4300. Any suggestions welcome, as I can't figure this one out. :confused:

Which motherboard? Have you tried updating the BIOS?

You must be using an asus mobo.. Mine does the same thing I think its a bios thing. Boot into windows and you will see that its running at the right speed.

HI there Guys,

Thanks for the replies, it is the Asus P5W Dh deluxe. I am still in the trhows of installing the OS, I will install and let you know how it goes. BIOS is 1101

Edit: Added Bios information

change DDR2 option atuo to DDR2 DDR2 800 would solve your problem :)

Mine comes up as pc5300 by default just the bios reading the spd wrong i think, as G.Skill Tech has said just change it in the bios to DDR800 :p:
