Good...u 3 play w/ these chips and tell us all if they're crap or not as far as OC goes :)

I love my AROIA too much to pass it on for a chip that only pulls 100MHz OC, lol.

Newegg(a well-respected site) is listing them with an ETA of 6/18/02 which is Tuesday. They don't always get them in on the exact ETA...but it should be pretty soon :)

I've purchased thousands of dollars of hardware from this place for me and others and I can tell ya that its a great company to deal with.

Here is the link to the 2200+:

I posted on that NewEgg listing over at AMDMB.com. They were all excited ..but carefully look at the listing...its an AX2200****...thats a Palomino core XP. The Thoroughbreds are AXDA2200.

Ahh...there is going to be a palomino 2200+ as well?
Interesting...was not aware of this :)

MrIcee

Well..not there is...but there was some 2200+ palomino core XP's produced before they pulled the plug on their production. Those cores have been filtering into the retail channel the last few weeks.

Most of the places advertising T-breds are now putting "July" times on their arrival.

Randi,

From what I just read quickly over at AMD's AthlonXP FAQ it doesn't appear as if a Palomino 2200+ was produced?

I could be wrong...but from what I read it looks as if the only 2200+ produced is the Tbred...while the 2100+ thru 1700+ will overlap the Palomino's.

Perhaps Newegg is just using bad part-numbering?

I could be wrong...here's what I used for reference:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_861_3876,00.html#10229

I guess the only way to be 100% will be to look at the pictures once Newegg has them in-stock :)

Their faq is wrong:)

It's been acknowdged widely that some 2200+ Palomino's WERE produced in small #'s....and most of the ones advertised on Pricewatch were these. Some went as far to advertise that it was the same archecture as the 2100+. Others did not. So beware the first 2200's that are for sale. Make absolutely sure that what you see or buy is advertised as an AXDA2200 etc. There ARE Palomino 2200's in the channels despite AMD's Faq.:)

It seems that they have ended up here in europe as well.

UPDATE:

Newegg made a liar out of me..they just posted a pic of their 2200+ offering..which will be $240 when they come into stock2200+ at NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=19-103-332-02.JPG) So it is indeed a Thoroughbred:D I'm on their 1st alert list when they come in:)

notice its a new stepping as well? AIRDA :)

All of the reviews I have seen to date have used the AIRCA stepping.

MrIcee

Yeah..I just went back and checked it out. Also notice its a "9" stepping....which was always the least desirable for overclocking. If you also noticed in these reviews the last week or so...most of the steppings were of the F3*** and F4**** variety. "F41" was good in Palomino's but these weren't F41's. We'll have to wait and see if the familiar Y and K steppings turn up around the web. Maybe better clocking chips around the corner my friends:)
