I got with me one Silicone and one Teflon (Silicone-free) spray.
Is it safe to spray one of these on m/b to prevent water (I use peltiers to cool CPU, NB, and SB)?
On the can, it does not say anything about electrical conductivity.

Whatever you do, read the labels CLOSELY, make sure there are no corrosive agents in the ingredients....

mg chemicals acrylic conformal coating or mg chemicals silicone conformal coating are safe bets. I have used both of them with no problems whatsoever. dow chemicals makes a bad@$$ silicone conformal coating as well but it is a bit thicker -- good for insulating the inside of the socket...

if you want something that can be wiped off {at least in theory), autozone carries a spray-on di-electric grease.

I am thinking that neither of those would be a very safe bet.

try this one instead:

man i used that stuff on my mobo a while back around my cpu socket. i had the socket masked up and everything and it soaked thru my masking job and got in the pin holes. as soon as i moved the locking lever it snapped off because the sliding action had siezed....*poof* dead mobo.

words of advice if you use this. spray it in some sort of container and pour it on instead of spraying it since spraying will go everywhere and carefully pouring can be more controlled.

Neither of them are good. They both stay liquid and never seal!! Get the non conformal coating.
