At last I am able to post on Xtreme :toast:

Here are my results so far, go easy on me though as I am still on a steep learning curve at the moment.

Mobo : Asus P5WDH (un-modified except for a 120mm blowing over her)
Cpu: OEM (from Scan UK) Conroe E6700 @ 4.0GHZ 1.6v
PSU : Temporary :Ulta 520W (need single rail for vapo) Usual :OCZ 520W Powerstram currently on a RMA
Cooling : Vapo XE (with some better insulation, and a few tweeks) -26c idle -22.5c full load
vcard : 2 x ati x1600 (crossfire enabled) I am not a gamer but I need quad outputs, stock, as I know nothing about graphics but would be willing to learn, 36K on 3dmark 01.
Ram : GSkill Dual Channel HZ PC2-6400 2GB 400mhz 4-3-3-4 2.2v
Monitors : 4 x 21.1 Samsung TFT
Headache Medication : 4 x Anadin Extras
Dog : A gold one like the master of the conroe OC.

If you've never bent a board your not a true overclocker ;)

Nice setup Jabba! Love the quad Samsungs and the 'modded' XE :)

I didnt realise how much it was bending until I saw the photo, I guess the vapo must have been putting some extra pressure on it, anyway, its still going strong and will be in the case shortly :D

amazing display setup, every photographers dream to have something like that. a triple display with 21s @ 1600x1200 would be incredible but i couldn't imagine sitting down in front of 4 of those monsters everyday...nice work.

i was curious, what do you need all the screen real estate for? i went over to your web site and found nothing but a bunch of sexy machinery on wheels but couldn't figure out if you were a photographer, videographer, or neither? if you don't mind sharing of course.

and with an e6700 b2 you cant do it in aircooling ?

i think thats a big misconception
there IS a diff between how high 6600s and x6800s can clock
and definitley stability at 4g on air is questionable. 1 x spi 1m stable? or 2 x spi 32m stable

Maybe I should change the title to Stable 4 GHZ.

Video Editing for my site and just making life easier, browser on one screen, email on another etc.

Back in 2003 when I got them it was about $11,500 from here :

and another $850 in shipping costs to the UK :(

Damn, that is an extremely nice monitor setup you have there. Is it possible to game on all 4 of them? I'd like to play Flt Sim 2004 with external view with those. Major video droolage and congrats on your conroe setup.

Thats something I would like to try, but with the vga cards I have, I am sure the performance would suck.

Those 4 monitors look great in the dark. What's it like to watch movies on though?
Nice overclock!

Yea, I think it would take Quad SLI or better to satisfy those monitors.

@ Raging Dragon Looks like the E6600 is available in the UK, still vary scarce here in US. That VAT is a killer though.

Well, I can only try with my dual x1600's and see how it goes, at least we have the conroe to help it along.

I wonder if I could use the projector for a 5th screen ?

Jabba, it takes one hell of a video setup to upstage a 4GHz conroe. Do you have a sound system to match?

Man you must be rich. Great monitor and home cinema setups you got there! :slobber:
I'm sure you could easily afford a couple of 7950GX2's to game on those monitors. ;)

Nothing to shout about really Sony STR DB2000/S. It does the job for now though.

ouch... back when LCD was still kinda new!

love the projector though, i had one for about a month before i had to sell it needed the $$$... still teh coolest displays in the world though, makes even a crappy movie feel as fun (or, as bearable) as going to see it at the theater

but what is the water for? i cant tell what youa re cooling it with...

im going to go for 4ghz stable 24/7 on an E6600 (phase)... i just hope i get a NICE board, and it should be possible....

I've always wondered about the practicality of running a Vapochill XE 24/7. How quiet are these things and do they eat up electricity too much?

Grats on the stable O/C.

well before i got mine i figured

12hrs/day
500w
6kwh/day
$.07c/kwh
$.42c/day
$12.60/month

isnt here yet mine is a custom made but im assured its quieter than a second computer

I couldnt agree with you more, they create an atmosphere like nothing else can.

I use water when I dont use the phase sometimes, also for future vga cooling I guess.

how do you like the water to phase transition, except for the temps which are of course way better?

my water system was getting on my nerves when overheating boiled the alcohol and blew seals and it leaked (luckily, mine was external, glad i did it that way) and then a few days later it just got worse and worse. it needs to be completely rebuilt.

im just wondering how 'convenient' phase is in comparison. the insulation scares me, but im going to do it really thoroughly. also what bothers me is it will still be external, and this time, even more burdensome than external water. good thing i dont move my PC much, because it was a pain in the ass and i generally needed a second set of hands due to the fact that its two 40lb boxes connected by little rubber tubes!

Vapo PE and XE (-35c) are 12V and very quiet (only 180W of heat removal though) and the LS (-45) and XEII are 240V and are noisy as hell from what I understand.

Performance doesnt come without noise and extra running costs I guess.

I have a love hate relationship with phase. It has destroyed at least £1,000 of hardware due to condensation issues, and everytime I think I have cracked it, I check the cpu and theres a tiny bit that has crept in.

I have run a celory for about a month though (not 24/7) and so far so good, you can bet though that if I leave it on the conroe then thats when it will come back and rather than destory a £30 cpu it will be a £300 one. I guess a bit more testing with the celory will get my confidence up though.

Never had any troubles with my swiftech ultra WC. Boring but safe :D
