Having an installation problem here. The X-Fi fatality is in the lowest PCI slot (and the power light is on).

When I try to install drivers, it says it can't find any supported Creative products and closes the installation. The X-Fi is detected as "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus". It just refuses to install the drivers, is there any way I can override this?

The card worked perfectly before on my ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe.

make sure you disable your on-board sound. X-fi has no inherent issues with running on a bad axe.

I think i've discovered the problem. My PCI bus might be saturated.

Here's the log:
Removed X-Fi and booted up, powered down and replaced card.
Neither X-Fi nor Gigabyte Wireless PCI adapter are working - will not even detect them.
Removed X-Fi and booted up, Wireless is working 100% again.

Very strange, Bad Axe must have an inferior PCI Bus than my old board, or maybe it's an IRQ confliction.

Um... it appears to be working now. I just put the X-Fi back in and it worked O.O

I didn't know motherboards PMSed...

its possible that the x-fi wasnt put completely into the slot. this has happened to me before.

Then how was the wireless card failing?

Both are working now...
