@ noob of 1337 - I never knew that either! lol.

G.S Technician,

Is this the stick me and the other 2nd place guys have won? http://www.gskill.com/en/f2-6400phu1-hz.html

If so where can I buy another stick (single) in the UK??? - all I can find is 2x 512MB and I want to get another 1GB and then a 2GB (2*1GB) dual channel kit. Making 4GB.

Thanks again for this - and thanks to Fugger too :)

A 1GB kit, you get two sticks for dual channel operation.

Yeah Moonraker that's the one we are getting.

I'm confused. Are the second prize winners getting 1gb x1 or 512mb x 2?

1gb x1 for other than 1st place

well i don't know if you guys wants 512X2 more or 1G x1?
to me 1Gx1 is better cuz 512x2 is hard to upgrade later you know

Thanks update,

you are correct about price to upgrade later.

I have not tested this thuroughly enough to confirm it works on all chipsets and mobo's but on Intel chipsets 955/965/975 it should be possible to run 1GB module and two 512MB modules in dual channel operation. Both channels must match in size. this does not hold true with Elpida based modules and non Elpida being paired.

I'd prefer 1GB as I want 4GB in my system. I can get my hands on 2GB (twin 1GB's) here in the UK, it's just finding 1GB sticks here. I've had a nosey around and can't see none.

Ok, I can't find anywhere that does these 1GB sticks on their own (F2-6400PHU1-1GBHZ) anywhere in the UK.

If someone can link me up with a place in the US that delivers to the UK - I WILL BE FOREVER IN THEIR DEBT! - I'm desperate. I want to run 4GB in my machine. The dual channel and this prize along with a another stick (creating another dual channel)

These will match up ok with http://www.gskill.com/en/f2-6400phu2-hz.html.

I heard there are problems running Dual channel and then 1stick on it's own as it bottlenecks. I read this from another site a while back. I don't remember much of it, something like:

running 3 sticks will negate the dual channel aspect. Your read and writes will be dramatically reduced

Ask someone from the states to buy it for you from newegg, which seems to be the only place to have it, and ship to UK.
