I've got a xp bold block and plan on running a d4 and d5 pump in series (pa 120.2 rad with panflo fans), i just wondered how much if any difference would a swiftec storm block make?

no need to use 2 pumps in series since they r not the same model

D5==> PA120.2+> storm is a perfect loop for cooling the cpu only

I didn't realise that using the older model and newer one would actually make much/any difference as flow rates are similar as is the head output. I know that the xp bold performs pretty much the same with one pump but does not do much better with the head of two pumps.
If using the d4 and d5 together will not work very well then i'll just use the D5 by it's self and keep the block that i have at the moment, i was just interested to see if the head produced from two pumps would make more than a degree or two of difference.

two pumps for s single cpu cooling is useless specially since u have a low-rest block

lol, an xp bold is a high rest block, a VERY high restrictive block

Depending on the revision. Rev .1 are more restrictive than storm, Rev. 2 less.

But, no, D4/5 are not good pumps to run in series, because of the rather high heatdump. One top-inleted DDC-Ultra will outperform them.

As for the difference, the Storm/MP-05 do respond better to high flowrates than the XP.

Ok, i've got another xp bold on ebay for my conroe setup, what i want to know is which will perform better the revision one or two with a D5 on max and a maze 4 in the loop?
the revision 1 looks much better made, it's got deeper better machined channels (the revsion 2 one has bits left in some of the channels and they are not as deep), although they are closer together i.e. higher restriction. Also the the top plate is deeper on the revision 1.

rev. 2 performs marginally better, but the difference isnt measurable outside of a testbed.

Plus rev.2 is less restrictive.
