View Full Version : How to get false scores removed from the ORB?

There is a guy a few above me in the Ti4200 default category and I'm positive his score is false :)

Its been there a couple weeks now so I'm guessing noone has noticed it.

How would I go about having his score removed from the orb?

Is there and email to send the compare url to?

Just got a new Ti4200 in that OC's alot better and would hate to have to work to try to get past a false score ;)

The score:

Just email them and ask him politely to remove his score. Most of them do. :)

If he doesn't, send Calantak after him, he's the likes to :banana::banana::banana::banana: at ppl who submit false scores. Hehe :D

lol...not sure how to ask someone to remove their score.

"Hey, ur score is fake, plz remove it from the ORB?" hehe.

huh, I saw the 4200 cat and every second score seems low from the other or just plane FAKE....

Dunno...

Yea the 2nd score down is the one I was referring to in the Ti 4200 default cat. A 1994MHz P4 and 100FSB over 13k, lol just take a look at the guy's specs just above him and the 2 right below him...its obvious he don't belong there ;)

Contact Madonion if :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing at the guy doesn't work. Or just send hate mail. :D

theres too many fake scores on there now so sending e-mails although they might work would be at it forever some are blatantly obvious however some do look legit on the outside till they are compared then somehow theres 200+ fps in nature or 300+fps in dragothic for a half decent machine even macci who we all know the score will be legit scored 87 in nature .. its a shame that people although the score might be bugged or faked spoil it for the people who work for hours tweaking and clocking to get every last drop out of there machines to be passed by one of them scores ...

Yea! I'm a downward spiral of destruction upon cheatörs! (but not today, I have the worst migraine since 20/12/1974, and it doesn't respond to 1000 mg paracetamol/1000mg salicylic acid and 10 mg of metoclopramide, and I know how that comes -implicating one helluva meeting last night)

what I mostly do is send this : it's short, and to the point.

Hello, would you please delete your result, it is a bug- or cheatresult and it only confuses people who work hard for their 3dmarkresults Thank you.
Mostly I get people who reply and say they're sorry, they remove most of the scores...

I quote a little email I had with Macci on the subject (if I may :) ) with nice input!

Hiya
Those "bogus" scores are quite annoying yes and its in a way a pain in the
azz. And not all of those bogus scores are done on purpose: some of them are
too high because of some software error or "bug". The so called "DELL bug"
is one good example of those scores. The dell bug gives pretty much excatly
50% too high results in every single 3dmark test. And as you may guess the
people who go and buy some dell system and get say 16.5k W/ the "great"
2.2G&ti4600 dell system don't have the slightest idea wheter the score was
correct or not so they go ahead and post it to the ORB :P
Also the dude who invented the 3DAnalyze cheater program (the proggy that
lets one disable rendering and textures etc..) should be shot. What's the
goddamn point in making a program that makes 3D benchmark a CPU benchmark
without any graphics!!?? arrrgggghhh!!

I do browse thru the ORB every now and then and report some of the buggy and
fake scores to MadOnion staff and they usually remove those scores in a few
days. This happend today for example :)

I also do know that Madonion are working on a "cheat filter" that would
automatically make it impossible to post obvious fake scores to the ORB.
Lets hope the get that feature up and running soon ! :)

Also I don't think that posting an anti-cheat thread would help anything. In
fact it might just encourage those losers to post more fakes to the orb.

Oh and I'm pretty sure that your promethia will give quite a boost to the
CPU speed ! It seems to be very powerful CPU cooler and from what I've heard
from JC its nearly silent too! Doesn't get much better than that ;) Good
luck with that stuff!

I will say the best avenue for getting these bogus scores removed is by contacting MadOnion staff...which is much preferable over emailing individuals. Hate mail is definitely a NO NO. I've recieved far too many angry letters over MY scores and know how it makes me feel to recieve some mail from someone I don't know who is not happy. Its best to let the Site Owners deal with the bad scores...just politely point out to them that these scores are in no way accurate and should be looked at for removal.
As far as the mail I've recieved..my scores were 100% legitimate. It just seems that a few guys running at 1800-1900 Mhz got inflamed because I passed their scores, and I was running at only 1595Mhz. I was benching within that class for a guide I'm putting together...it just happened my scores went beyond what they were achieving in the 1900Mhz class.(13,699)

Randi - To clear up any confusion, I was just joking around about the hate mail thing. Maybe I should have added some smilies to show I was just messing around. :)

In fact the truth is most of these people have no idea something is even wrong with their score, so sending hate mail to an 'innocent' is something that is pointless and stupid.

MrIcee
06-16-2002, 08:27 AM
I'm sorry for the misinterpretation Dex. I didn't think you were serious..but just wanted to post clarity to anyone reading the thread:)

You are absolutely right..some don't..but lately from the ridiculous scores I've seen..some do as they are playing with a proggie that artificially inflates the scores by disabling rendering etc. As far as my analysis...it really only affects the nature score the most..pushing it to levels that are not proportionate to the other scores. Then theres the Dell "bug" and equivalent..as has been many times explained..these people wouldn't know that their score is not really accurate..as the entire scoring is inflated thru each test. I still feel it best to let MadOnion handle these published scores rather than individuals:)

the orb has been spoiled by the bugged/fake scores ... a half decent way round it though is to put the g4 ti 4600 in the graphics box on the search and compare as it knocks most of the fakes out ...

LORD

To get that score he'd have to be doing some serious clocking on that card.

Don't forget that there are some ti 4200's that come out with 3.3 ns ram as well. eg SUMA make one.

It could be a fake though. As I average around the 13,300 and my ti 4600 clock's at 365/780. Maybe I need a lot more tweaking and some more horse power under the bonnet.

I hope your not talking about that original score I posted :)

You might want to take a look at some of the systems' specs that are scoring around him in the Ti4200 class ;)

Those Intels seem to run pretty good on 3Dmark.....

Socket A thin fin cooler with DELTA. Thermaltake ram sinks on BGA. It's a Leadtek Ultra with A3 chip.

Yeah that's why I'm cursing Intel, it's too easy to get high scores. ;) Why did you even change the cooling on that card? The stock cooling with stronger fans would be better than what you put on, it sounds like.

It was a mixture of reasons why I changed it over.

At the time I had issues with 3.3volt level. Went down to 2.97 at times (under load). This was with an ENERMAX 550 watt.

Since then I've found it important to make certain that the pins in the ATX socket on the motherboard make proper contact with the ATX plugs from the power supply. MY 3.3 volt level is over 3.36 volts now. As read from MBM etc. You'll find that the GF4 overclocks better with a higher 3.3 volt level.

I also found that the rear sink got mighty toasty on the Leadtek standard setup. Tried using a 50 cfm Sanyo Denki and it improved things somewhat.

I took it off to have a look and the finish of the mating surfaces positively suck (really rough). Especially where it makes contact with the GPU. It doesn't help with the dished surface of the DIE.

The socket A heatsink is rated for a 2100+. So it should cool better. I would think. Only thing is I attached the TT heatsinks with very thin frag tape, so it's not as good as thermal compound.

Have to work out a better way soon. When I can get a GPU water block I might try that with a pelt.

:)
