I have a friend who has 1gx2 x2 (total of 4 gigs) of Mushkin DDR2 1000.

Would anyone know if this will work on the Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX? If so I think I will have to take it off his hands.

Thank you for the help.

Its ok with a mobo. But Im not sure if winXP will utilize all 4 gigs.

Sorry to expand my first question but what are your thoughts on these motherboards:

Intel D975XBX
Intel D975XBX2 “Bad Axe 2”
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Asus P5WD2-E Premium
Or
MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition

Sorry for so many questions and thank you very much for your help.

Agree - also not sure windows will use all 4 gigs. It might help in Photoshop but windows will not. For now I will just store it in the new system until the end of the year and then I will be building one more system using the Kingsfield.

Thank you for the reply.

Windoze XP SP2 doesn't have working PAE, so no 4 GB even if the BIOS successfully remaps the RAM clashing with the device space.

You can use 32 bit Win2K (probably), Linux, BSD or any 64 bit OS.
