Just bought some G.Skill 2GB HZ DDR2 memory (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ). I was told that it should be 0605 or 0606 batch - i.e. the Micron D9s - but on receiving it I've noticed that the serial number has no mention of 060x in it at all, in fact - it doesn't even start with a zero!

My S/N starts with 6270 ?

Is there any way of verifying what it is I've got in terms of ICs, because I don't want to open the packaging if these modules aren't going to be anywhere near as good as everyone says the 0605/0606s are. It's got black headspreaders if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.

i have these same sticks and the serial number should be on the left side of the sticks, is there anyway you can take a picture for us?

must be D9GMH XDBut how can you tell?

I'd want to send these back if they aren't, and I only have 7 days to do that under the Distance Selling Regulations in the UK.

I don't have any way of testing them right at this moment either. :(

6270 seems a long way from 0605/0606 - and everyone seems to say the first four numbers is the pack date?

gskilltechnician said that any of these kits that will ever be produced anymore will be the d9, and this isnt one of the older kits (e.g.0604)

another way to tell is to look at the memory chips themselves if you look at the side of the chip and the bottum of the chip and they are the same length, so it looks like a square, it is d9.

hope this helps

EDIT:If it is not D9 it will look like a rectangle
