A pair of AM2 X2 3800 EE's for $150 a piece in a laptop would sure be nice :slobber:

I guess so, but am not seeing the need for a thread. That'll drain some decent amounts of power, reguardless of the EE. The EE's are going to be more expensive anyway...

I never did understand the need for brute power in a laptop.

The funny thing is that the higher power Turions use the same amount of power as the EE X2 3800, so there would really be no point.

Some only have laptops and being able to carry a supercomputer around with you would make it better.

Run 2x AM2 X2 3600's @ 1ghz each (4ghz total) at around 0.75v at "low power savings mode" and shut off all the extra cores when idle of course.

We know some CPU's can run 2ghz at 1.0v or close, so 8ghz @ 1.0v per core at "high power battery" mode...

On the wall socket, crank it up!

I'm sure it will happen soon. I mean dual-core Centrino just came out in January and SLI notebooks have popped up, and 4x4 processors haven't even come out yet, so I say 4x4 laptops will come out sometime in Q1 of '08 @ CES.

My predictions:)
