For some reason, I have really been into Dreamcast games lately. In particular, fighting games. They just seem better on Dreamcast.

Is it just me or has the Dreamcast seen a resurgence lately?

Dreamcast is very cool. I'd play it more if it wasn't loaned out to my girlfriend. I like the controller a lot. I had a few games on there that were spot-on!

yup, dreamcast was a great system, not to mention some of the titles they would've released would've been awesome, but as we all know dreamcast didn't make it :(

mine's currently sitting above the tv, i did a power led mod to make it blue :p:

I'll tell you this, Hey Grind Radio was the shizzle back in the good old days. You wouldn't beieve all the hours I spent on that game, it was so awesome.

It would be great if the 360 had a Jet Grind Radio - that would be sweet!

Sega Bass fishing - now that was a good game for Dreamcast; there's some proper monster bass lurking in the last stage :) I was tempted to get the little fishing rod controller for that game but never did. House of the Dead was fun with the gun controller, and although I only owned it on PS2, Rez was originally a Dreamcast game; very different & quite addictive too.

I think I gave my Dreamcast away, or its under my bed; either way its unlikely I'll see it again.

I've got a rod controller working its way to me via Ebay! The kids and I are looking forward to some Sega Bass fishing competitions!

I know there was a PS2 version, and probably a PC one too, but I say Crazy Taxi was best on Dreamcast. Has to be with the wheel and pedals though :D

It sucked in the arcades though because the pedals would break/deteriorate and would be impossible to get up to 100% throttle.

I always wondered why I could play for 30 minutes straight at home without running out of time, but only like 2 minutes in an arcade. Then I read some article about it online.

Yeah, the Dreamcast was just great. (I still own 2) you just knew they'd give you perfect arcade ports because the Naomi board was based on the DC. I miss SEGA. now they just make a few titles a year that aren't even worth playing.

I still love Virtua Fighter, but that's it..

Seaman was :banana::banana::banana:ing awesome. I loved playing that game. My damn brother sold my dreamcast lol. I let him borrow it and I find out a couple weeks to a month later that he sold it off. I was like WTF? It was pretty sick too, I had traded my PS1 for the DC when it first came out with my neighbor. I remember playing San Francisco Rush 2049 ALL day, everyday for like 3 weeks when I first got it. Awesome times.

Oh, I miss the days of 6 guys sitting around a room playing Soul Calibur. Win? You play the next round. Lose? Hand the controller to the next guy. Was fun going 20+ winning rounds with Mitsurugi, back when he was completely overpowered. :)

LOL, one of my friends used Cervantes 100% of the time. I remember many rounds where I katana uppercutted him out of the ring in the first 2 seconds. :)

Funny how everyone played the same character over and over, regardless of getting their asses handed to them. :)

Ikaruga ftw.
I recently started playing some backups, I think I might collect games over the summer, not too many titles and prices are pretty low, it would be cool to have all of the games...

I bought one from BestBuy in 2001 or so. They had them on clearance for $49. Played it for a time and then it collected dust. Funny, I just found the console as I have been in the process of moving. Found a keyboard adapter I had never used as well. Anyone hook up a key board and use windows CE as Sega advertised?

since been in tokyo a few weeks ago, i feel this uncontrolable itch to play msr. quite a few corners i've walked around on foot seemed very very similar to what i remember of the game.
oh and of course 24hrs le mans. yea, i drove the full 24hrs - twice, i think. and of course soul calibur and ready 2 rumble. fond memories. i just need to convince my buddy to borrow me his dc (after all he has 'borrowed' my ps2 for way over two years now).

or i'll just ebay one. almost did they night i returned from japan :D

i still play the streetfighter games on dreamcast...

skeelz
11-16-2007, 06:27 PM
all the fighter games are still popular....like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (mvc2), Capcom vs. SNK 2 (CvS2) Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, etc. People have actual arcade sticks called Masticks (might be spelt Mas Stick or MasStick idk)

Probably the greatest thing about dreamcast.

the bst thing about the dream cast as an old console and its down fall was not need a modchip to copy games so now that it dosnt effect devs anymore u dont hurt them by dloading those that are hard to find like how good snes games are like $100-200 dreamcast is like $5 or 50c for the disk to burn it

since i got a bunch of dc people here... i tried hooking up my friends dc to my 42" toshiba hdtv telle.. and bugger, all i get is an almost entirely black screen where you can barely make out the dc logo. any ideas? i'm using the cable he's been using to hook it to his (old fashioned) tv.
