Congrats to the winners ;)

BTW, did the guy(s) picking the winners actually unsterstood the joke in my banner? If not, I guess I need to make it more obvious for the next round. I don't mean to say that I should have won btw :p:

Once again, congrats to the winners :)

I got it. Then again I took my physics final just over a month ago so it is all still reasonably fresh in my brain :)

Dunno about other people but there are certainly some intelligent people around here :)

Yeah, me too. It's 9.83m/s2 on the poles and 9.81m/s2 on the equator if I'm right. That's why it's more economic to launch (big) rockets from the equator. Not many people actually know this :)

Agreed :fact:

alexio gravity rulez xD
It kinda sucks if you're into hobby rocketry :D

what kind of rockets you into?

i used to do single stage and simple double stages. usually with just C and D class engines. gave up because i could never find them after i launched them:rolleyes:

I have some Estes C5's lying arround and have launched some. But I prefer to build my own engines from Candy propellant or the like. I don't like parachutes, I rather give it some other sort of payload ;)

I'm currently testing some home-made nitro cellulose to see if it can be of any use in my rockets. I need to tame it a little as it burns way to fast. It's just a project for fun as candy is better suited for hobby rocketry anyway.

damn, i never got that far into them,

i found a couple of the little micro engines in my room a few days ago, but i lost the mini rocket i used them in. i think i should just strap them to another small model car again.

Yeah that's fun, but those small engines don't really provide enough powder to give it some real speed. Maybe it's more fun to bind it to a little stick and just launch it as if it was firework ;) Stick has to be really light thought :fact:

We are hijacking this thread :D
If you have some questions or just wanna talk a bit, you should shoot me a PM ;)

Not many people actually know this :)And that's because the earth is flattened in the equator, so it's radius is bigger "horizontally" than "vertically" :D
