I just set the new AM2 system. :D

DFI INFINITY NF ULTRAII-M2 (nForce 4 Ultra) no mod
AMD Athlon64 3500+ (AM2) Orleans
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3
NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT :(
Enermax Liberty 620W

Cooler: GIGABYTE G-Power Pro

This motherboard is cool! I can set the HTT up to 433MHz prime stable. :D
(The max in BIOS is 450 MHz but no success :( )

looks like oc'ing am2 gonna be as easy as s939 - point for AMD :D
good test - now kick that CPU to the limits :D

Max VCORE in BIOS is fantastic - 1.850 V !! (I used only 1.350 for this test)
Max VDDR is 2.5V (2.4V is used)
Max VChipset is 1.8V (1.6V is used)
Max VHTT is 1.35V (1.35V is used of course)

Here is the rig, simply the best. ;)

VChipset higher doesn't make a difference?
Nice voltage options on this board, I specially like 1.85V Vcore :slobber: Not even possible on my Gigabyte S939 :/

good htt but lets see some max mhz pi,validation..

Max MHz that I can go with air-cooled (GIGABYTE G-Power, the only AM2 air-cooler compatible I have) is around 2.9GHz

Here is the CPU-Z Validation (http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=105953).

already tried at 3GHz, stucked at winXP welcome screen :(

And here is the pi results of 2.9GHz :)

very nice setup and that board looks to be killer!

did you buy the board retail?
how much was the cost?

thanx for sharing and keep the information coming, my interest is certianly peaked with this board.

that's sweet.

htt @ 433 aircooled signify that this chip is not too coldbugged.
in general the new 90nm amd chip have 370-380-390 max htt aircooled

can you give the stepping of this cpu?

DFI AM2 !!!

I don't know why no one noticed. There are NO DFI Am2 boards in NA atm. Thats a first look at the board.

Though the Epox nf4 ultra has four phase power...:

...the DFI, as always, has better placement of components :) :

First, get a better chipset heatsink and then make 450MHz happen. Stable of course. :)

Second, every Nforce4 chipset is moddable to SLI. There's just a kind of epoxy on the contacts. You can scrap the epoxy off and then make the connection. ;)

Thank you for your suggestions, I will try again with better cooling solution.

Good news...

I try to mod this board to SLI capable, using the same trick as LANParty nF4 Series (socket 939).

Take a look!

Everything seems to be OK.

BIOS identifies the chipset as nForce 4 SLI !! :toast:

450mhz HTT is easy, I was running 450 x 5 with my mainboard in sig. but it only gave me 2250 mhz. I could try 450 x 6. Im not sure what my memory would run at tho.

Nice to see that it worked. :)

Now on to the improved chipset cooling and you'll perhaps see upto 500MHz (clockgen). That would be great. All nforce chipset really love it when getting cooled properly. The stock heatsinks on most "overclocking boards" are just a joke.

Wow, this looks great! I am thinking about getting the EPoX NF4 Ultra AM2 board and an AM2 processor of some kind after the price breaks happen. My current EPoX board has same layout, and it's perfect for the combination of CPU ang GPU HSF's I am running.

according to BA, dual-core > single core in sandra bandwidth numbers.

i thought my DDR1200 bandwidth numbers were a little low but for a single core i guess they are alright.

I just got this board yesterday and it's looking pretty damn good.
As for the SLI mod, I think it is possible to run SLI without hardmodding the chipset. Just grab the modded FW drivers and you will have SLI enabled.

For those who worry to void the warranty by scrapping of the enamel on the chipset, you should try the modded FW drivers.

Also, the chipset heatsink is pretty crappy... gets too hot to touch!

Finally, I'm done with this motherboard. How's 440HTT for a sub 100 bucks mobo? And this was also done with stock Vchipset.

http://lp.pcmoddingmy.com/albums/userpics/DFI/NFUltraII-M2/normal_440HTT.jpg (http://lp.pcmoddingmy.com/albums/userpics/DFI/NFUltraII-M2/440HTT.jpg)

By the way, I swapped back to the original crappy cooler for this overclock. Overvolting or a better NB HSF didn't help me climb further. Considering the BIOS allows up to 450HTT max, I'm very satisfied with this board. Oh... I almost forgot. Here's a screenshot of my SLI setup on the UltraII-M2. (http://lp.pcmoddingmy.com/albums/userpics/DFI/NFUltraII-M2/ultram2_sli.jpg) I simply downloaded a modded FW driver and SLI worked.
