Does anyone have a list of which HSFs work with conroe motherboards ?

If not, then if anyone knows any can they list it. Preferably ones people have been using to get those enormous OCs :p

But any and all are welcome :) You will be helping a worthy cause:

Any HSF that fits LGA775 will work for Conroe. LGA775 has been out for two years, so there should be plenty of selection;) .

I think his question is more about the Conroe board that are very populated around the Socket.

For example: from the Pics I have seen, the Scythe Mine and Infinity wouldn't fit an Abit AB9 because of a capacitor in the way.
Some board would have problem with the Ninja Plus also.
etc..

I was a bit worried about this at first after being with AMD for a while but really any cooler with supports the LGA 775 will do.

Another one is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7

On an 18 month P4 540j stock HSF. At 1600 RPM, dual prime temps are 47*C :)

Not True. Scythe Mine is just behing the Ninja, but is quieter and smaller. The Scythe Infinity is better than the Ninja and is near the Tower 120 in performance/noise ratio. Noctua 120 is a very good cooler too. Thermalright make great cooler too.

there is many, but you have to take extra care to be sure it fit the mobo you want to buy.

When does the Infinity come out? I can't find much information on it.

Relax, it was said with tongue in cheek, hence the wink emoticon.

And the Mine isn't "just beating" the Ninja, fyi. At best they're equal, at worst the Ninja trumps it by 3-5 degrees C in the links above. Not once does the Mine show a lower temp with the same CFM fan.

I said Behind, not beating :p:

If space isn't a factor, then the Noctua 120, Big Typhoon, Ninja, Infinity and Tuniq Tower are all better.

SilverStone SST-NT01-V2 works.
But then you wouldn't want to use it, especially when you want to OC.

Scythe Ninja is a passive heatsink with the option to add a 120x25mm fan. In other words, it creates 0 noise without a fan and you cant get -dba levels.

but fanless, it's definitely not a "great" performer.

What are you talking about? How can you compare apples to apples when the optional fan on the Scythe Ninja can be ANY 120x25mm fan? The sound created varies from fan to fan and you seem to know how to slap a dba noise level on this HS?
