Surprisingly enough apparently.

This just in:

Check out new ati chipset mobos for AM2, then see the lack of conroe supporting chipsets in the Intel section...where most of the mobos are still DDR1

Mmm... definitely looks like some agreements have been struck between the two.

wait a minute, i thought ati is very committed to supporting intel's conroe. what's the deal here. i think an announcement from amd that they just bought ati is coming shortly :). btw, is this consider or even close to ddr2 speed. my 2x1G sticks of g.skill ddr1 can run at 265Mhz or 270Mhz at 1:1 timing with somewhat tight timings. i need to starting learning about ddr2 and how to configure settings before k8l comes :). anyone see the specs on the dfi nforce 590 board, crikey, that's an awesome board.

Actually ATI's latest chipset will only support Intel.

For AMD 939 and AM2 its the RD580 and for Intel its the newer RD600.

This is correct and the Intel chipset will have the 3 PCI-e slots before AMD gets them

Thank god for Draxx, OP had me scared half to death with this extraordinary news.

I still have all of my (crossfired :p: ) eggs in the Conroe basket
