Well, I'm not terribly extreme, but I wanted something that didn't look like an alien spaceship landing. I'm using this as my media center PC, which contains a P4 1.5ghz (OC'ed to 2.0ghz), 768mb of system ram, eVGA MX4000 video card, and a BenQ DVD-Rom.

Here's what we did step by step... All in all, it took around... 4 hours? That includes paint drying time. It was like pea soup it was so humid today. I got a sunburn to boot.

Here's how I started... I painted the whole thing with the flat earth tone green. I mean, it's camo. No gloss paint here. That's for the flashy folk.

I also included the next step in here. It shows how I slowly progressed with the taping job. That was tedious, and took some patience.

The next pictures include my progression with the taping project. I finished outlining what I wanted to keep green in this photo.

Then I filled in all of the gaps that the taping had. I was trying to keep it as neat as I could, because I knew there'd be even more tape on there further in the project. Organization keeps your head on straight. So, here's the tape filled gaps.

That was a lot of headache, so I was glad to be done with that part.

Now that I have my blueprinting portion of the tape job done, I had to do two things in this next picture's step.

First, let me explain why I had to do the next part...

I had 2 other colors available to me. My goal was to try and keep this looking neat, and not have globs of the same color sitting next to each other, if at all possible. So, I mapped out the blobs with I's, and II's with a sharpie, to keep myself organized.

I decided to paint the I's first. That's why I have newspaper over some of the blobs. Those sections newspapered off are the II's.

Now I'm beginning to do things that will show results. The waiting is over. In the next picture, I am painting the ones labeled with a single I.

And a reverse side shot...

I'm entering the last step of using tape. My back was seriously tightening up on this one. I've been sitting on a slab of cement for around 200 minutes, probably more.

I've removed the newspapers from the II's, that were protecting them from the sand colored paint. I then covered that sand colored paint to keep the dark brown from over spraying on it.

Here's the last of the newspapers, and grocery fliers.

Time for the last of the paint.

I'm putting the dirt brown color in the sections marked as II

There should be a beauty of a project under there somewhere... I hope. What do you think? Take bets? Well, I'll post the final pictures here within the minute.

Okay, time to reveal the beast. Here's what she looked like. I'll be spray painting the floppy drive black to match the rest of the drive bays. I need something to fill that slot below it too, which should also be black.

I'm undecided on the final result. I don't know. It sure looks better than the old stained beige that it was, but It wasn't 'ideal'

Constructive criticism welcome.

No, its cool. Most people don't come here and they post in the Case section. This I think is more for Vmods. BTW its very clean on the outside.

I like it :). Don't feel bad if it didn't come out how you wanted, it's hard to do that on your first try.

Well, it's not my first attempt at a case mod, but it was my first try on that camo pattern. I think I got in a hurry with the sunburn on my neck.

Where do most people post thier case mods?

Where do most people post thier case mods?

I guess we don't mod cases on this site? Ha... I guess I need to learn to navigate on my own here.

Not too shabby, I think the one thing I notice is that it seems you were rushing, so the pattern is very large. If the pattern was smaller, and more detailed, it'd be a better effect.

If you ever tried another camo, you could also try a non-taping one.

I know Krylon makes camo spraypaint, and there's a certain order you apply it on, the first as an almost full coat, and you work from there, not sure what the final outcome would be though.

All in all, nice clean painting :)
