I am getting a 226 watt tec for my rig. It runs too hot for my liking and I have the tec as well as a 20 amp power supply on the way. But I don't know how much and of what kind of insulation I should use. I have some 1/8 neoprene laying around somewhwere, but don't know if that will be enough. My through was to use di-electric grease on the suface fo the mobo and then plant the neoprene on top of that to prevent air bubbles. This may work for the underneath side, but what about the top?

Personally i would make sure that all gaps between the waterblock and the motherboard are sealed with neoprene and the board is coated with dielectric or silicone sealant in that area. Make sure the entire coldplate is sealed up as well, as water would condense there and freeze in some instances :).

Here's a quick snippet on condensation proofing for a 226w TEC.
