I don't know nothing about nothing compared to most here but I can look up current offerings, and I find the following contenders. I know G.Skill has some on the horizon too but I don't think it will hit retail by the time I'm ready to purchase.

Also, I'm going to be going with 4GB because I'm going to be running Vista 64-bit full time. I still don't know if this means I won't be able to push my memory too much making high end useless to me.

Regardless, I am planning on getting an X6800 and watercooling it and was wondering y'alls opinions on which RAM to pair with it. I can afford to be spendy if it will actually buy me better OC success but no need to throw money out the window either.

Corsair:
TWIN2X2048-8500C5 (only production 1066 memory? their claim) $453
TWIN2X2048-6400C3 (lowest latency memory? their claim) - $453
TWIN2X2048-6400C4 - $270

OCZ:
OCZ2P10002GK - $449
OCZ2P10002GEEK - $484
OCZ2P8002GK - $209

G.Skill:
F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ - $489
F2-8000PHU2-2GBHZ - $468
F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ - $244

I don't have much experience with Muskin or others but I'm willing to listen to their merits.

And thanks for helping me decide.

My choice was 2*1024MB Crucial Ballistix PC6400, still havnt maxed 'em out, need a conroe...

- But did 442mhz 4-3-2-1 at 2.0v as far as I remember... - I bet 500 4-3-2-1 is very possible at 2.4-2.65v :)

Do you know who carries it in the states?

TWIN2X2048-8500C5 (only production 1066 memory? their claim) - G.Skill F2-8500PHU2-2GBHZ - $489;)

Yea, I noticed that. That's why I said "their claim". :)

The funny thing is, they all use terms like "only this and that" "fastest so and so" and then a week later that claim is false.

:)

Also, could someone PLEASE tell me if running 4GB will mean that I'm not going to be able to push my memory as much (like going from 2x1gb to 4x1gb would on the DDR platforms).

www.tankguys.com

Also, what do you mean by you'll be running vista full time? Now? or when it comes out?
Try 2X1GB first and if it isn't enough, buy a second kit later!

I bought these> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146114, mainly because they ran a combo deal with Logitech G5 free and, since I was building a new system and didn't want to deal with MIRs of other memory companies, I took it.

Patriot is fairly priced and overclocks very very well for me.

I believe Tankguys.com stocks them. I was just looking at their ram here this morning but im still up in the air on which ram im getting. So far the G.Skill 2 gig HZ kit for $244 is looking to be the one to go with.
