AMD Opteron 252 CABNE good chip?

What 940 board should I go with?

they are excellent server chips. they are not designed to be overclocked.
what sort of applications do you plan on using it the most for?

mostly to build another distributed computing slave...was thinking about overclock...but if they don't handle it well then probably not.

Honestly it would be cheaper just to get a Nice Socket AM2 sempy and cheap ram and overclock it.
and later on get the cheap dual cores when they come out

thats true...an am2 system is just far more balanced than a dual core (?) s940 system.

asus k8n-dl can oc alright with clockgen but if it's just for crunching a sempron with a high oc would be better and cheaper to run.
