I am trying to choose a case to best fit my rad. I have three models of the same type of case to choose from.

MountainMods
U2-UFO
U2-UFO Optimax
U2-UFO Optimax 1203.

The Optimax 1203 mounts the rad at the bottom front of the case so the rad is lying down. Will this reduce performance?

The U2-UFO "non optimax" mounts in the rear standing up and Optimax standard mounts in front verticle. Any help on this anyone?

I was wondering the same thing, can i put a triple 120mm rad on front of this case?

instead of the 3 fans up front.

Lucky you, Red Sky do you think a triple 120mm rad could fit in front of that case, where the 3 120mm fans are? I posted a link. Which one is the ASA?

@tino - read your own link!

The Ultimate in Computer Chassis - Mountain Mods award winning U2-UFO.
The U2-UFO will accomodate a Thermochill HE 1203, 1202, or 1201

Are people really not capable of reading the text on a webpage, or are we now a generation of "ooo look at the pretty pictures??" only... it says in the first few lines of text on the link that you posted that it'll fit triple rads. Some of the questions getting asked on here recently are a complete waste of time and a result of nothing but laziness.

U2-UFO - takes ThermoChill single double or triple rads vertically in the front, or Black Ice Dual in the rear.
U2-UFO-Optimax - takes ThermoChill single rads as it has single 120mm blowholes.
U2-UFO-Opti1203 - takes ThermoChill 120.3 rads (hence the name - 1203)

Hot air rises, therefore coolest air is on the floor. Opti1203 offers BEST performance, not reduced performance.

The whole site says the rads can be mounted I agree. I was questioning performance and didn't see anything on the forum regarding sideways and vertical mount of the rad. Thx Marci for clearing that up for me.

Honestly, makes little difference, but according to theory Opti1203 should be best... use lower barb (nearest floor) as water inlet, upper barb as outlet. Prevents airlocks, makes it easier to bleed.

These are roomy cases. You have enough room to fit the rad and fans on both sides in a push pull if you desire it. I only have one set of fans on mine currently and there is a ton of space left.

Why not just get a case & mod it yourself? Don't get me wrong MM cases are extreamly roomy (a little too big for my taste) & premoded to accept a 120.3 rad, but they are also very pricy. I would rather put the extra cash into the hardware going into the case.

I owned one for a year, then sold it.

They are definetly an acquired taste, and for me theyre bordering on just too big for my tatse.

Its very easy to fit any triple rad inside alot of "normal" sized cases.

UFO 1203's are more like $300.00-$379.99 USD with $40.00 to $50.00 USD shipping...

With a little bit of tweaking it (HE120.3 w/38mm Panaflo fans) will fit nicely.

examples: here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/shonuff66/radmounted012.jpg) and here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v392/shonuff66/radmounted025.jpg).

I'll look for a w/ the PA120.3 mounted this evening.

I just got a U2-UFO (black) and a PA120.3 rad. After seeing this rad it makes all others look like toys. This thing is a tank and will fit just fine in the U2-UFO.

Nice work ThermoChill! :toast: :toast:

u2ufo is a nice case, though it is rather large. Fits the he120.3 very nicely (and the pa as well though I havent switched yet)
