That's a good one, since it is designed to fit into a 5 1/2" drive bay. Seems to work well, it's used by lots of people.

I was going to build my stuff external to the main case. So space isn't really a concern. I see some 500W+ computer PSUs for much cheaper though... is it a bad idea to go with a computer PSU?

I belive that a regular computer psu may be a bad idea for a 226W pelt. I myself used two psu's together to run the pelt because either or created heat issues with the psu's themselvs.

Soon after i aquired a REAL 13.8v 25A psu to power it, and i must say that was a very smart move.

I would use something like a meanwell dedicated PS for 226 pelt:D

if you chec out the links at the end of my chiller (http://westech.home.mindspring.com/chiller/mychiller.htm) page there is a ps that is larger but only cost 69
and is rated at 23A.
or go here (http://www.sofistic.com/cgibin/webc.cgi/st_main.html?sid=33w8Nt0lE2aF6qL-08103173746.c3) they have cheapo 400 watt psu for $9..they aren't very good but for 9 you could get several and do what you want.
