I noticed that we have no vault presence in this project (though we do have a team founded by LV_DD) with 0 points, so I've set up this project on my box and have started crunching for it. I've submitted a request to DC-Vault to add the team.

Excellent, I just added it yesterday. Talk about long WUs, mine is 73 days....

mine is ~1688 hours....
70.33 days. woo :)
their website does mention 3-4 month long WUs, so 70 days is a bit under that average isnt it?
i hope this project rewards points before WU completion... O_O

how big are the WU's to download?

BOINC manager says 367 megs of disk used, but i dunno if thats how much was downloaded or what.
one big warning about this project is that it uninstalls any existing BOINC client and then installs its own apparently tweaked BOINC client (v5.4.9 based). I wonder if re-adding optimizations would have any impact and if so on what...

I did re-add the optimizations, and it helped.

I think you can attach to the project by using the URL bbc.cpdn.org

yeah, i re-added optimizations; lets see if it speeds things up, increases points, or does neither.

Took me several tries to get the scores back up to previous levels. I had to go to each project's preferences and adjust them to keep the project in memory when suspended. After that, I finally got my benchies back up to previous levels.

I really wish there was a way that on multi-cpu machines that you set it so that each cpu runs a project rather than switching back and forth.

what about setting the maximum number of CPUs for each project to 1? would that parallel up projects across multiple CPUs? or if you set one to a maximum of 1 CPU and another to 2...

That just may work.... I'll give it a go tomorrow, unless you want to try it and report back.

heh, i don't think it'll work to well on a newcastle ;)

The Climate projects will grant points at intermediate points during the processing of the work units .
As soon as some points show on the Team account , the application for the vault will be approved so that will leave Leiden as the only Physical Science project we don participate. (That project is basically dead).

That will leave only the 4 math projects to go.

points trickling in! the first points from myself and LV_DD are in and they got us 444 vault points (our team has 453.60 points)
woo! :)

Nice result! Keep crunching away at those megaWU's :D
