Well I definately like this build better than my last watercooled pc.

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=353139&page=2

I have a Swiftech Storm Rev. 1, Alphacool Laing DDC Pump Ultra, Danger Den Maze 4, Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Res, Black Ice Xtreme II equiped with Danger Den Stacker Shroud with 2 Sanyo Denki fans. Installation was a piece of cake and I used Swifter Dry Sweeping cloths under the danger den stacker shroud to control the dust bunnies and keep the dust out of the black ice xtreme rad.

Leak tested and no problems so far. I could not stand the fans any longer. I guess once you go watercooling you are stuck. I built this pc about a year ago and thought I wouldn't mind going back to air cooling. Boy was I wrong. She's as silent as a sleeping baby.

NICE JOB! :toast:

The tube on the Storm inlet looks a little restricted, you might want to adjust it or atleast pull a hose clamp and the restricted section to round it back out. JMO

Another STACKER SLACKER!!!!!!!:woot: Welcome to that Stacker Hood.

If you would like I started a thread for those of use with Stackers "STACKER SLACKER", add a pic there?

is that a 01 or a 810?

its an 01. my last watercooled pc had an external box and I went with the stacker for durability, expandibility, and peace of mind. I got this case a year ago and new she would house watercooling with no problem. Hell I still have room to add more :banana::banana::banana: in her.

After I get my pump and i starte piecing mine together I will post pics, but I still have an echo (echo echo echo echo) in mine, I have the 810, cause the dual exhaust 120's. Still have yet to decide where to put the RAd(s) either go single 120.3 or dual 302s

I think the pic of the storm inlet tubing has a shadow and looks like it is restricted. The tube is perfectly round with no kinks or bends so I dont think there is any restriction present. I have plenty of room and will try adjusting her.

That is sweet

Did you have to cut the bottom of the stacker?

Swifter Dry Sweeping cloths under the danger den stacker shroud

Kinda confused here..also is that clear bracket the dange den shroud?

Jeez when i see the way a dual or triple rad can be used in other cases I really hate my P180

So, why did you like that Water color?
2.- If Im not seing bad, then your config is like this:

Pump-CPU Block-VGA Block- Radiator-Reservoir-Pump
Why dont you try this?
Pump-Radiator-CPU Block-VGA block-Reservoir-Pump
or
Pump-CPU Block-Radiator-VGA block-Reservoir-Pump

I went with zerex racing super coolant. that is what gave the coolant the distiguished pinkish color. I went with pump-cpu block-vga-radiator-res-pump. I thought that is the most commonly used configuration and it is giving me decent results.

Nice mod, Stacker always looks good with WC's, plenty room inside. :toast:

Yeah, Zerex turns water in a horrible pink tone, but you CCL made a good effect.. bravo.

that clear bracket on the base of the case is the stacker shroud. it is also depicted in pic 1 and 2 also. it does not require any modification to the case. It lines up perfect to the case. you just remove the preexisting screen and line up the front and rear bolt holes and tighten them down. i used a swifter cleaning cloth to avoid the dust bunnies from entering my bix2.

why did they put holes in the shroud that are smaller than 120mm faan blades? looks restrictive to me.

So, what decent temps are you getting?

It probably wouldn't matter. IIRC the bottom of a Stack is not wide enough to fully fit a 120mm fan. They probably could have elongated the sides a bit, but whatever.

a very well done stacker love the uv with the zerex (have to do it to mine)

are you sucking air into or out of the case?

Big D

processor temp is 34 degrees celsius. used artic silver 5 so it should set in a bit. I have the 2 danyo senkis sucking air into the case. the most improvement I have noticed is the gpu temp has dropped significantly. i have the ko edition 7800gtx and it is at 40 degrees celcius.

That's 1/2" tubing? Can I see a picture of your pump?

How's that set up? 1/2" into the top inlet of the pump, what's at the outlet?

Big D
06-25-2006, 08:19 PM
all my tygon is 1/2" tubing. The top of the laing ddc is the inlet and the outside port of the pump is the outlet. the outlet is also originally marked on the pump when you recieve it. You have to take the stock top off and put on the acrylic top on. also the inlet to acrylic top was plugged so you have to plug the original inlet beside the outlet and put a barb on the top of acrylic top to make it the inlet.

Sorry, I guess I shoulda been clearer....I was under the impression that the DDC's were native 3/8" inlet/outlet...do they ship with 1/2" barbs?

Or is it, you can put 1/2" barbs on, but the actual holes are 3/8" ?

DDC stock is 3/8 barbs... with a modded top, you can use 1/2 fittings

Big D
06-25-2006, 08:33 PM
it ships with 3/8 but you take the stock top off and use the acrylic top. it comes with two 1/2 barbs and a plug. here is a link to where i purchased mine..

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=201&products_id=4509

also you can purchase one with a reservoir. I may pick this up down the road for :banana::banana::banana:s and giggles. When I drain my system down the road I may install it. Also, led lights will be coming out soon I hear for these pumps.

Ah alright, know about the Pro version?

Does that come with 1/2" barbs?

I was looking at performance-pcs too lol...they ship to Canada nicely.

And if it didn't I could use soemthing like:

No?

I would be careful on what barb you pick. have to be sure they have the same thread pitch, the ones I have look to be the Danger Den G1/4 High Flow Fittings - 1/2". dont quote me thou, to be safe I ordered the barbs with the pump.

G1/4 is the size of the alphacool DDC top

I've been browsing the forum for some time now as I recently got into watercooling. I had to register after seeing your setup just to tell you how awesome it looks.

It also inspires me as I have a brand new Stacker sitting in my room waiting for my new watercooling loop. I forgot about the DD shroud and I'm glad you posted because I want to put the rad in the bottom of the case like you did. Although I have the MCR220 so I'm not sure it's the same fit.

Again, awesome job and thanks for the inspiration. :toast:

So I was right then :)

Does it need anysort of epoxy?

Big D
06-26-2006, 05:13 PM
CRXican, welcome to the forums. You cant go wrong with the stacker. With my system configuration, I still have lots of room for more upgrades like additional harddrives or other medias if need be. If I outgrow this case, I will definately have to go to a mountainmods.

Shpoon, you do not need any epoxy for that pump or the barbs. If anything you can use teflon tape on the threads, but you dont need to. I did not use anything and mine is running like a champ.
