Yes it does, just like 975X it requires a VRM update.
A couple companies are updating their 945 boards, including Epox and Asrock
Asrock does some weird stuff. They also have an 865/DDR1/AGP board

They just modded power curcuitry to match VRM11 requirements. ;)

Here`s a lot more difficult task for you:
how they managed to get 865 chipset (http://www.asrock.com/product/ConRoe865PE.cn.htm) to work with Conroe :p:

Here`s also few product based on 925 (http://www.asrock.com/product/775XFire-VSTA.cn.htm) and PT880 (http://www.asrock.com/product/775Dual-VSTA.cn.htm) chipsets that have Conroe support

those asrock guys must have some top notch engineers to get that stuff working

VRM11 is what separate pentium D with conroe .... otherwise i think even 875 can work, too . with some performance degraded

Of course, after all they are a division of ASUS. ;)

I've got an asrock 775xfire sata2...but as I see on the asrock website only the 775xfire sata 2 + does support the conroe.

Do you know if flashin the bios I can get make it support the conroe?

VRM11 required I think as mentioned above so its highly unlikely.
