today i received the P5W DH. The E6300ES works fine, but i canĀ“t set the VCore. I have tested Bios 0065,0502 and 0504. Only the option "auto" can be selected.

A german user told me, that he canĀ“t set the VCore with his D930 Retail too. But other can set the core with Celeron or D805.

Any suggestion for this problem?

Try using software based overclocking tools :)

or a newer bios.

well he said he tried different bioses (like I did with my p4gpl-x)

and software based tools are not really a 24/7 option, he paid for the mobo to have the vcore options so he shouldn't have to use software...

sure you havnt missed something in the biose? couse others with conroe have the option , unless they are special sent boards from asus?

microcode for ES chips may not be set in the BIOS....retail may be the only answer to this problem....

that wouldnt effect manually setting the vcore FCG, the microcode wouldnt do that. it would make the auto setting go bazerk or defualt to the lowest value i suppose.

you can disable microcode update on any board and it doesnt do anything.

It's wrong...............It's bios problem, not CPU.

Try to use this bios and Dos flash.

Hi,

i have now flashed the bios to the new version 0065 with afudos in dos mode, but the vcore option is only the setting "Auto" in the list.

I have testet with the bios 0504 and now the 0065 bios.

I've got a Presler D 930.

@AndreYang
Why do you use the last prefix /pbnc /n ?
i use only afudos /i******.rom
to update the bios.

ciao

Kinc said something about rebooting 2 times or it would set vcore to auto, so try to reboot two times before entering windows.

I have flash the bios with afudos and restart the pc, then i go into the bios and set "Load Default". Then i save the setting and restart the pc again.... what i do wrong?

try to CMOS

what chip are you using?
ES or retail box?

i have tested 940D and 356 both retail box and waiting for E66 ES

this error occurs with Conroe ES and with Pentium Ds as well. they can change vCore using AI-Booster, but after reboot it's @ default again. the vCore setting is marked orange (if I'm guessing right).

Hi,

i use a retail D 930.

I will test die Core2Duo E6600 on Monday.... i hope that will works fine...

I will do a CMOS Clear now, i hope that clear the problem.

ciao

1. flash bios with afudos: afudos /i******.rom /pbnc /n
2. restart pc
3. shutdown pc
4. CLR CMOS
5. have fun with vcore

right?

Nice job on the solution! Do you only have to do that once? or do you have to restart everytime you want to change the vcore?

do you like the INTEL chip7?

Have you tried the AMD 1+1 on N5?
