Ok, I called them and he told me that they will have the P5W DH Deluxe by next friday. He states that they WILL NOT Charge your credit card until they get the shipment in and they will contact you first to confirm if you want to continue with the order if you decide to pre-order. Also note, they will not get the Conroes until late August :(
link $260 by it self is not bad (http://www.jncs.com/php/showdetail.php?&item_id=mb-as-p5w-dh)

I think that price includes a CPU and memory.

And why does the title of the listing say "Asus P5WD2E-Premium"?

0 complaint from the BBB (http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&strBCode=00410000&ComID=0041000021001162&ComName=J+%26+N+Computer+Service) in the last 12 months. This might not be bad after all.

My P5W DH arrived earlier today at U.S. Customs which is a few hours from where I live. So hopefully I'll get it soon.

The only thing that's a little suspicious is that the CPU options include Conroe chips including the X6800. How are they able to offer those CPU's now?

How good of an OC board is this? It doesn't have the same issues people were having with Bad Axe's?

I noticed this in the description of the MoBo - SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection): allowing FSB tuning from 200MHz up to 400MHz at 1MHz increment.

Is this an acceptable range of FSB or is this an issue with CPUs with lower multipliers like the E6600?

Personally, I like the idea of 1Mhz increments. This really allows you to choice the FSB that you know will work want instead of predetermine settings that don't always agree with your CPU. As we all know each of the same make, model cpu may not OC the same using the exact same MB. But this is subjective....

You completely missed what I was asking. Is the 400Mhz ceiling enough for people who want to OC their Conroe on water/air? Or is a 500Mhz ceiling needed in combination with great RAM like Corsair 2GB kit.

400 is more then enough for your most avid OC'ers. What's the average user count tapped out on FSB now at 400 with their current cpu . Who is running 440, 450 or 470 fsb? Or is this an e-penis issue?

Id say you should have atleast a 450 - 475 Mhz ceiling on the Motherboard..

Else its not worth it.

The P5WDH reaches 450+ Mhz quite easily though..

Order placed :D
Thanks for the post!

Edit: They called me to make sure I understood it was a pre-oder so I asked a few questions.

They ordered 30 boards for first shippment and I was 15th order placed.

They expect to have them by the 30th and said they already have shipping tracking numbers from Asus.

Sort of but no more than a Intel badaxe and it has more bells and whistles.

I was going to try and save some money and get a i965 board but after thinking about it if I get a early i965/ich8 and have problems then I will probably end up buying a 2nd board.

The i975/ich7 has been around long enough that there shouldnt be any surprises than cant be fixed with a bios update.

I put in my order from jncs as well. I placed it late friday night after they were closed. I just called this morning and they said I made it on the first batch and they "should" have them by friday. I guess we'll see. Also if you go to their webpage it now reads:

"This product is not yet in stock. We've already pre-sold our first batch, but our expecting the next batch approx July 15th"

I think I'll wait, after all I still need to buy Conroe and don't feel the need to be paying premium price for a few extra weeks.

Update: Just got a email from jncs today. They said the got an early shipment of boards in and wanted to see if I still wanted it. I promptly called them to confirm and they are sending mine out today which means i'll have it before the weekend. Also does anyone know if a 506 2.66GHz P4 Will work with the P5WDH? I've got one laying around that I want to throw in until my e6700 arrives. I can get my yonah and aopen board on ebay sooner that way ;)

UPdate on P5W-DH AT www.JNCS.COM

7 Boards arrived today!
More boards due in on Friday or Monday!

Preorders shipping out in order they were placed. I was number 13, so I should have mine ship out Friday or Monday. I must say these guys have great customer support and are very helpful. They expect oem conroes approx 1st week of August and retail conroes the 2nd week.

Looks like this place is selling them too, but they don't have any inventory specific info:

http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-P5WDHDX&c=fr&pid=15e550774ec628be88505e376c4c653c46bd6caf0d5272 f49a827a29994e6884#

The phone # on the site says they do not accept phone ordering, so hard to say if they actually have them in stock, probably just have to roll the dice and order online to see if they do or not.

HELP, I need to know if you have any problems getting a different board using a OEM copy of XP? You have an OEM copy of XP when:
-you are asked to go online activate your copy after you reformat, inputing your cd key already.
-the online activation process indicates that you do not have a registered copy of XP and you need to call in order to straight out the situation.
-You call and talk to someone (usually with a heavy accent) explaining your situation and they give you a 20+ new key to input.

Again, my question is for those that have an OEM copy of XP, after you switched boards and had to reactivate your copy of OEM XP did you have any problems?

Kind of off topic, but OEM XP cannot be migrated to a new MB. Retail XP can. Read the SLA.

I think this is the best (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16837116199) option for those with OEM and cannot update their OEM to support Conroe boards. Unless you want 2 discs and pay more money...

Thanks Plaicd. I know the 506 a horrible chip to put into such a nice board. But I can live with it for a few weeks. If not i'll have to try and borrow my 930 back that i installed in my work pc :nono: Hopefully I'll have any and all bugs worked out with the new board before my conroe arrives.
