Hi,

I know we've had our differences, but I have to agree with you here.

seems a lot of people on here think the prices are inflated, some, including me and you think they are reasonable.. I myself pre-ordered an E6600 and I don't regret it. Don't expect prices to drop £50 people, I seriously doubt they will..

Takes a man to admit that dude and yeah we do bicker too much. Meh lets let it rest.

OCUK seam good on these but whom ever eles gets them will have maybe a better deal. I'm happy with what i paid for on my ES E6700, i know exactly what it's done already which is an added boost. I didn't pay too much more that what i would if i bought one off OCUK RRP + there silly delivery charge.

Mobos are on there way too is what Gibbo told me last.

P5W DH Deluxe is listed on ocuk for £180 just now..

That's the mobo I want but I'm going to wait 2 weeks until Insight get stock..

Thats a Conroe preorder in Holland, they have 19% VAT while we have 17.5%, the E6600 is £218 (boxed) after conversion including tax. So its true they won't be £50 cheaper, but they'll most likely be £35 cheaper by the time you start to open that box.

Edit: Sorry tax is 19% not 20%

I'll buy them anywhere but ocuk!, the E6400 looks good for me.

maybe so but £35 isn't something to cry over. If they are cheaper than fair enough, you know.. I don't understand why you all want to try and tell me I was an idiot because I "maybe" (i.e. no proof as of yet) overspent by £35 to get one on release.. It's life :banana::banana::banana: like that happens

Pre-orders in EU (http://www.trend4pc.de/)...and also cheper than in UK...I have got my new Opty 165 last week for the same price as the pre-ordered Conroe 6600...but If I want to go for a Conroe I have to buy a new MOBO (200+€) and new ram (200+€)...I don`t know if it is worth right now...

Regards,
Primoz

Luckily i need to build a new computer from scratch so i dont have any trouble going for an e6600 based system.

I didn't insult you, I was just pointing this out. If £35 was important to you and I didn't then I'd be an arsehole. I could be wrong and everyone sells at £240+, but I think there is more chance of OCUK ripping us of than them doing a preorder with the correct price.

Nah, I've gone for it too. I really don't have any hangups about ocuk; the E6700 is about £420 inc delivery and if that's a premium price, then I accept that I'm paying extra to be certain to have one when they arrive. It's a few quid more than I paid for my x2 4600 (a good chip that I'm happy with), so I reckon that's about fair.

Good luck with your purchases, you pays yer money, you takes yer choice.:)

However,i'm going a slightly different route and taking advantage of the strong pound and buying from the U.S,including mobo and RAM.
Massive saving.:D

...until H.M. Customs and Excise are through with you. I bought one of the first USR v32bis modems from the US many years ago... afair it worked out at about £420 off the shelf and over £600 once Her Majesty had caught up with me. :(
