Hello to the forum im new around here i have a problem with OC
my specs are
Gigabyte 8IPE1000-G 800fsb
ATI Radeon X800 GTO cooled with CNPS7700-CU (No better than the stock cooler)
Twinmos x2 400mhz
P4 nothwood 2500 533 fsb stepping 7 family F model 2 Rev.C1 with FS-C77
PSU-Q_TEC 400W
Soundblaster audigy
Pixelview playtvpro
SATA1 80GB WDigital Raptor
the case is moded and air cooled with 3 120 fans and 1 140 using ENERMAX UC-A8FATR4 to control the fans (wich has a good look but a sucking alarm when the fan speed drops off 1000)

And the problem is that i cant get the clock higher than 154x19=2926 with 1.68 volt and the heat under load never gets higher than 42 .when im using higher fsb like 160x19 with 1.68 volt the system cant post
with 160x19 and 1.76 volt i am able to get into windows but its 40% stable .also i have to tell u that i dont have a cooler for the northbridge and my cpu has a locked ratio
My memory is 400 mhz running lower because of cpu fsb(i have tried divider lower timings but still nothing so i dont think its the memory,i have PCI locked also (i dont know if this problem)
inside windows with gigabyte harware monitor i get volteges like
VcoreA 1690 to 1.670
+3.3V 3.320
+5V 4990
+12V 11.920 to 11.720
1.I wonder if the chip cant go further.2.The mobo is crap 3.The PSU is crap 4.Or i am the worst overclocker ever:mad:

sorry for my bad english

i hope someone can help me

I think that your P4 can't get higher . :(

Either your P4 is maxed or its that mobo. Thats my guess anyway.

I've had that Mobo, well.. the GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G but it brought my P4 2.4C (800Mhz FSB) to 3.06GHz stable on stock cooler with a tad over stock vCore. That board raped. It's prolly ur RAM/CPU man :).

EDIT: Q-Tec PSU? Theres your :banana::banana::banana:ing problem right there.

He might be right. your 12v rails got pretty low there too ~11.7ish. Anyway get a nice namebrand psu. There's a guide on motherboards.org here (http://www.motherboards.org/articles/guides/1487_1.html).

GL w/that oc!!

Q-Tec is prolly the WORST "offbrand" psu there is..

I had a 300 watt No name brand (cant remember the name) and i was on 2850 on stock cooler
the 2400 northwood can go much higher than the 2500 ive heard around
ps do u think its pointless to place a good northbridge fan-any suggestions how to remove it
by the way thanks again i really apreciate it

mobo and the psu would be the problem
